Hey, I have an idea- why doeesn't everyone who hasn't got an offer yet do one or more of the following:

1) post here about it
2) panic and assume you aren't getting one
a)speculate on reasons why you aren't getting one
b)get really pissed about it
3) Call Marriott and complain that an offer that begins in 2 months isn't in your profile yet

+1 :D

Can Marriott IT fix this problem? Yes, I am sure it is within their abilities, but WILL Marriott IT fix this problem? It's sad, but no, probably not.

Stay 2, Get 1 (Cat 1-4) for me. Same as I typically receive as a Plat. I do hope to someday get the Cat1-5 offer even maxing out at 2 rather than 3 certificates.

Got: "Earn 25,000 points after 15 nights + 15,000 points after 20 paid nights—up to 40,000 bonus points"

Need to take a look at my travel and figure out if I should stick with points (maybe try to get upgraded to the 35K+15K version) or switch to Cat 1-4.

I got mine! The real question is if we will be able to switch. I am platinum only because I am a meeting planner. So my actual night in a room is slim. I always get the stay 15 nights get xxpoints. I have never stayed that many night so the stay 2 get 1 free is much more appealing to me. I have always been able to switch, but last time they told me this might be the last time they would switch. Don't have time to call right now, but I would be interested if anyone else has had any luck with this.

Good news that the Cat1-4 certificates expire 12 months from date of issuance as consistent with the current MegaBonus.

Just got in. I am good. 35K for 20 nights and 15 for another 5.

This is what I got.

Same here. Maybe I got the lower threshold because I switched to mostly HH for the last half of the year and didn't make the bonus either quarter...

I think the general approach is to keep the goal just out of reach of your previous pattern to get you to add more stays.

Then I want more points. I've been making my MegaBonus offers.

Well, OK, there has to be an extreme. You got the max nights challenge...guess they figure they have you hooked if you are already staying >1/3 of your life in their hotels.

Any guesses how many people meet the criteria for their MegaBonus offers, how many get the consolation prize of fewer points, and how many get nothing? I guess when people ask to be switched to the stays to free nights version, they're pretty confident they can't meet even the lower night requirement.

Help get the bonus

Wondering if anyone could offer some advice...
In March I'm staying 3 nights in a Marriott Courtyard. 2 of those nights are being paid for out of pocket (christmas gift). The other night, I'm using a 1 free night cert that I got after signing up for my Marriott Premier.
Could I do the following
Day 1 = Paid night
Day 2 = Free night cert
Day 3 = Paid night

Since the paid nights are not back to back, any chance this would count as 2 stays?
I've read the T&C and it states "A stay is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity." So I'm not really hopeful that my plan would satisfy the MegaBonus requirements. But wanted to know if anyone else has tried anything similar?

BTW..I got the 1 free Cat 1-4 after 2 stays for this MegaBonus.

No, the paid nights would not count as two stays, because all three nights are chained together. If you want two stays, you would need to spend two nights in one hotel, and one night in a different hotel/

Freddy2010 Dec 20, 2012 11:54 am

So for this situation, it is regarded as 1 stay and 3 nights for status?

cyclogenesis Dec 20, 2012 11:58 am

Earn 35,000 points after 20 paid nights + 15,000 points after 25 paid nights—up to 50,000 bonus points...

Hmm.. Bad dates for me though..

VickiSoCal Dec 20, 2012 11:59 am

No, it is one stay and 2 nights. Free nights don't count for anything.
