Are gift cards excluded? (not mentioned under payment method)

DCA13 Dec 17, 2012 12:59 pm

Dead link when I click on it, and there's nothing available under my promotions page. What was the point of this post if we're unable to see the details?

Dolphinyong Dec 17, 2012 1:34 pm

Gift cards accepted?

Any details?

Did you fail to read the part where the OP stated the registration opens on 12/20?

What? You expect us to read all of a two sentence paragraph instead of clicking blindly on a link then complaining?

oxfordjames Dec 17, 2012 4:21 pm

Thanks for the heads up Marriott Concierge, lots of news coming out of Marriott Rewards today.

Will Ritz-Carlton Rewards be running a promotion during the same time frame of some description for RC enrolled members?

Cheers,

Advance notice. Make us feel special and valued. Marketing 101.

shoreline Dec 17, 2012 9:30 pm

Like the advanced notice. ^

I knew it was coming out soon, I just posted last week to ask about when the info. would come out.

It seems to be working. We're talking about this promo.

For me, the posted earning dates are perfect for the 2013 travel I hope to be doing beginning first quarter 2013. Yippee!

I read that registration opens on the 20th. I also read "Here are the details" with no real details to follow. I figured the link would be to the page with details, even if we couldn't register yet.

If you really wanted to give us advance notice, why not say "Here's the details of the Spring MB - Stay X nights, receive Y. Registration will be available 12/20 through the following link..."

Majikow Dec 18, 2012 11:07 am

Dang. This is a bummer. I of course have 7 nights coming up between Jan 15th and Feb 1st that I was looking to stay at Marriott, but there is no promotion.

VickiSoCal Dec 18, 2012 11:11 am

This should not be a surprise.

Am I incorrect, or are the dates of this year's Spring Megabonus a bit unusual? I seem to recall that usually they have one Megabonus ending on or about January 15, and another starting on or about March 1, but of course my memory on that may be faulty. Please advise.

OOPS! Vicki's posting and my posting crossed in cyberspace!

Nope. Pretty much always February 1-April 30.

30.

I just saw that on Vicki's chart! Thanks Vicki! :D

dionnec123 Dec 18, 2012 12:02 pm

Complete lack of creativity...

Wish Marriott would mix it up. I would love to see something a little different. Would also love to see something that does not max out as I would stay more days if I could keep getting more bonus points. I'll have to wait and see what Hyatt has. SPG's spring offer wasn't bad but not great either.

Ditto that bummer... I will be staying continuously through that period and no bonus... but then again, I should easily hit any maximum nights they have set, so no worries. Maybe go to Hilton and double my points during that time ;)

I REALLY must get a nights rather than stays promo or have the option to switch or I am screwed and will have to run off to Hilton.

MSPeconomist Dec 20, 2012 2:14 am

It's December 20th and nothing yet for me in promotion central. No email about the promo either.

OK, I'm getting frustrated. It's the middle of the day on the 20th in much of the USA and all the fine Marriott employees in Salt Lake City should be in their offices working by now, not to mention those on the East Coast. Where is that promo?

rob_flies_ua Dec 20, 2012 9:38 am

It's up

Edit to add: I got "Earn 1 free night after every second paid stay, up to 3 free nights
Enjoy your free nights at any of nearly 3,000 category 1 – 4 hotels."

mindrisa Dec 20, 2012 9:40 am

Yup... just got mine... the typical every two stays gets a certificate to category 1-4 with a maximum of three certificates.

Not for everyone yet, but there is still plenty of time. Some of you have got to learn a little patience. @:-)

hnewman Dec 20, 2012 9:41 am

Just got in. I am good. 35K for 20 nights and 15 for another 5.

USirritated Dec 20, 2012 9:42 am

If you want a points promo instead, call MR and ask for it, they will usually agree and make the switch for me, although not always.

Would you believe I just happened to read the thread and hit the link at just the right time?

25K+15K for me for 15+5 nights. 10k less than you.
I am a platinum.

Same. Which is remarkably similar to the one I just had for the winter promo.

And I was automagically signed up for it.

lilmama48 Dec 20, 2012 9:55 am

how did our megabonus come?

Did your megabonus come today by way of email or where do I find it so I can find mine. Sorry I am a newbie.

USirritated Dec 20, 2012 10:00 am

Interesting, but I have not received my offer yet, but that might have something to do with no stays for me in 2012. Odd either way though, because I did get the offer for 2012 Winter Mega Bonus, and signed up for it, just in case. I will have to call for it, since I will be re-starting my travel in first quarter 2013.

I also got the 5,000 point business bonus offer, which I did sign up for, for stays between now and March 31, 2013.

I want the opposite, 2 Cat 5's or 3 Cat 4's, in which case I may still spend 12 - 18 nights but I'm kind of done with the 35K/50K for 20/25 nights. Do they let you switch?

Why done with the points bonuses?

I personally do not like those, since they mean no room night credit for those "certificated" nights, and no points earned for those nights either.

yul lite Dec 20, 2012 10:07 am

No megabonus for me yet either....
