I know there's a lot of speculation as to what will happen to the certificates once the merger happens. I'm curious as to whether or not the certificates will be transferrable within a household, much like SPG points can be transferred today. I am debating purchasing another package for my wife to bump up her AA miles, but since she has no status I have no desire to actually make a hotel reservation in her name. Thoughts?

Or, has anyone had success transferring airline miles via marriott to someone else's AA account?

While we can't definitively state much about how the new certs can be used or not used, historically, we have been able to use TP hotel certs for family/friend award stays. My guess is that will continue in the new program.

As for transferring airline miles into someone else's account, we have not been able to do that (at least not directly) and I also don't see that changing with the new program. Historically, the way around that is through the transfer of points to the other person's account. Since Marriott will allow more than 50K point transfers when ordering an award, you could do so when ordering a TP award and thus get the airline miles into the other person's account.

Ordered the TP on Monday the 30th. By night they hadn't posted but the next day they were there, marked as having been deposited on the 30th (they actually arrived on the 31st, I think).

I ordered my UA TP on Sunday. Still not deposited but I suspect miles will show up today.

Apparently this is only for upgrading an existing package. It might get resolved within 48 hours. I was holding a CAT 6 and was thinking about a CAT 8. However, not too sure - they might mess this up in the last few minutes.

Not trying to get you freaked out but I ordered one on Monday and the miles were deposited on Wednesday (best as I can recollect being halfway around the world). And this was the longest I've waited.

I saw your post this morning and checked mine just now. I also received 120k AS on August 2, 2018 (redeemed the travel package on 7/23.

Had a good experience last night ordering a cat 8 with 120,000 AA miles (for an Etihad redemption). I waited for 25 minutes on hold after calling the 801 number and saying "points balance". The rep that answered knew exactly what to do, asked for my MR number, my AA number and that was that.

How come some people without Vacation Club are still able to get 5-night packages while others can't ??

Some have received the five-night package who weren't MVC members and had it cancelled when audited.

What happens when it is canceled?

Re UA miles. I ordered my package on July 24th, and the miles just posted in my account today. Seems odd that some people seem to get them within 24 hours and others are taking longer - but the moral seems to be don't freak out if they don't post right away

They finally resolved the bug in their system (at least for my account), but now the miles won't post on VS (supposed to be < 3 days, per phone reps). Their teams are investigating it, but I imagine they're overrun with requests / issues. A supervisor indicated to me that this is a widespread issue (on both the VS number side, and on miles not posting).

Anyone else experience something like this? Beyond frustrating...

I ordered a TP the morning of 7/28 and I'm still waiting for my VS miles to post. I've verified they have the right VS account number, but the MR twitter team tells me there's no way for them to check the status of the transfer. They said to allow 3-5 business days. FWIW, VS's twitter team told me to allow two weeks.
