Hello All,
Good News! I have gotten confirmation that Elite Only rewards will all be extended for another year. Including the $1000 gift cheque reward. The only Elite reward that will not continue on is the Elite Only Spa Experience reward. This reward will retire on the 12/31/11.
Happy Holidays!

Great news unless you already burned 135,000 (or 270,000 or more) points prematurely because you thought this was ending 12/31/11.

I actually think it is pretty pitiful - they give her a job, which is communication to FT of changes, and whatever else...but they never give her definitive info in a timely manner.
I do not envy her.
It also seems to me that in this instance it WAS cancelled - and then reinstated. I have already ordered, as I was concerned I would have a blonde moment and forget. Turns out I should have forgotten.

Dinner for 2 Website Info incorrect
I just redeemed 20,000 points for the dinner for 2 award and discovered another problem. The website T&C clearly state the certificate is good for 15 months. However, my email confirmation indicated it is only good for 1 year. I contacted customer care and they replied the website is incorrect and they will not abide by the T&C stated on the website. What ever happened to admitting your mistake and standing by your commitments?

To the OP and all others who spoke up, and to Marie, our voice inside MR, a big THANKS.
Looks like making our voices heard this time worked out for our benefit. Phew.

Also, does the gift check have to be used all at once? or can you keep any residual value from the first use for a completely separate stay later? Thanks!
