EEO Bait and Switch?
I recently called the Platinum Elite line to reserve 2 weekend nights at a property (Marriott Suites Clearwater Beach on Sand Key) with the intention of using the Elite Exclusive Offer of 2 for 1. Before hand, I checked the back of the coupon to ensure that the property was not excluded. It wasn't.
There seemed to be some confusion on the other end; the rep had to talk to her supervisor. She came back to mention that the property does not participate in the program, but would in the next round of EEO offerings.
I politely reminded her of the written exclusions on the back of the coupon, but she wouldn't honor the coupon.
I did not force my case any further, ask to see a supervisor, etc. Should I have, or do they have the right to shift things around.
Any suggestions?

I would try to call the hotel directly. If you do get a positive answer, be sure and take the name of the person you are speaking with.
Failing, that, you may also wish to try an email to [email protected] or [email protected]
Good luck!

Hotel was a Radisson, and is in the process of switching to Marriott. I'm not sure if the switch is complete yet. At the time of the offer, the hotel was a Radisson. I'm guessing this has something to do with the problem.

I have tried a couple of times to work with them, they are a different animal and march to a different beat, part of this has to do with them being a resort and just rebranding. Several people that I work with have tried to stay there with the same result.
Being Elite doesn't seem to mean anything to them.
Like others have said, give them some time and let them get indoctrinated. In the mean time stay at the Vinoy, they already know how to treat Elites....
