Phantom internet charges

For those quests staying at the Newark Airport Marriott in New Jersey it seems that if you use high speed internet for $9.95 on let's say monday, that same charge goes on your hotel bill the next day even though you did not even use it the next day.
This happened to me last week and also a few weeks ago. I reported this but apparently this is still not fixed so beware if your staying there.

I have had this happen on a number of occasions. They gladly take it off the bill but I have to go down to the front desk when I check out to get it taken off. One of the few Marriotts which did not do this was in Marble Arch in London.

I don't get it, each night when you get on the internet you must go through the acceptance screen. They should know whether you have used the internet or not. But why do they still charge us?

This just happened to me this week at the Tyson's Corner Marriott. I never used the internet the first day I was there, but when I got my bill they had me down for all three days.

I like the way Ren. Mayflower DC handles the internet charge. When you log in the first time it will ask you how many days you want the service. If you are not sure you will be using it the next day, just sign on for one day. And the best reason....they do not charge tax, just the $9.95.
