I had 210 nights and just saw i've got PP for yet another year (that sounds horrible btw).
|
Just noticed that I was upgraded to PP. My details: 8-9 years + at Plat. Relocation in the past year - 156 nights at various properties, but mostly CY's.
|
I renewed as a PP......WOO HOO...didn't think i would......wound up with somewhere between 86-90 nights....and i am not sure how i renewed....but i had 220 paid nights in 2007...!:rolleyes::eek:
anyway...i'm happy.............congrats to the new PPs...........(hate to say it, but it's not all that great....except for my ego!) |

Just logged in & saw that I was upgraded to Platinum Premier! Can't wait to see what's the difference with Platinum & Platinum Premier!

I missed it yet again...I guess 89 nights wasn't the magic number for me this year...And I'm exlusive to Marriott for my stays and have been Plat since 2004. (2003 was the first year for me and I just squeezed by as a Gold at 50 nights on the dot)
Oh well....We're off to the 2009 races! We'll resurrect this thread in 2010 :D |
Another first timer. Been a plat since 99 except for a short stretch in 05. Didn't make it last year with 165 nights, but did this year with 190. Just wondering what it will matter, since my prime location doesn't really have much in the way of upgrade opportunities.

yup ... glanced through this thread again, and i think i just need to smile and accept the fact that i'll never understand the way Plat Prem qualifications really work?
i just closed out my third straight year of at least 150 nights. HA > not sure if i "just missed" ... or if i'm way off. Back to the drawing board. |
This thread made me go look, although logically I knew I did it make it.
I was low-end on actual room nights, but high end on avg. revenue, with a few nights over $600/nt and many in the $400-500/nt. range. I thought "If there's a revenue component to this...maybe... ;)" Nothing terribly unusual about my stays: just ended up with several last-minute business trips to London in the summer with very full hotels and a $2+ exchange rate. The same hotels are now running me a much more sane $275-ish per night. |
+1
Just checked and it appears I am a newly minted Plat Premier as well with 157 nights last year, most of which were FI and CY.
Not quite sure what the qualifications are but I have been Plat for the past 5 years and Gold prior to that for a few years. Congrats to everyone else that got promoted! --DD73 |
Another PP Newbie!
Hi kids- I just noticed that I made Plat Premier - really surprised too! I had about 160 nights this year.
15 - Credit Card ~75 - FS and RI nights, and a courtyard stay or two. ~75 - From 4-5 months of an Execustay apartment (only 1 night credit for every 3 nights) Was Platinum from '04-'08, but in 2008 I only had about 30 nights due to a career change, and luckily MR extended me Platinum for a year (without asking) and I made it up by getting double-platinum this year and then some! Good luck all, sorry to those with more nights and no PP to show for it! Looking forward to any PP benefits for us all! JA |
PP really is not that big of a deal - especially in light of all the cutbacks Marriott is doing right now.
I am furious re: lounge closings, no more weekend breakfast coupons, etc. |

I'm a newbie to this side of the forum, I normally post on the airline boards. However I had 145 Marriot nights last year, and have been platinum for the last 3 years. My account has reset, but I am still a Platinum. I normally spend $130 to $180 a night mostly in Courtyards, but occsionally in full service properties. Should I be premier or am I fooling my self. I emphasised Marriot stays last year to see if I would make it. I am not sure if I should be that loyal this year if I am not going to make premier with this sort of activity.
Can any of your more experienced folks give me some insight. Thanks. |
