The free breakfast when lounge closed seems to depend on the property. I know several (Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, Santa Ana Marriott by the airport, and others) that will give you a card for a free breakfast when the lounge isn't available.

Truth be told, I prefer when that happens, as the breakfast at the restaurant is often far better than what one gets in the lounge!

What not to wear in the Concierge Lounge

I was in the JW Marriott (Washington, DC) July 3-5 2011. The Concierge Lounge was packed with families for July 4th (great place to see the DC fireworks if your room faces the Washington Monument).

On July 4th morning breakfast, a husband and wife comes into the Concierge Lounge in their Marriott bathrobes! Husband wore designer socks and his wife wore great looking heels! They were the talk of the Concierge Lounge even the next morning.

That look is enough to justify closing all CLs on weekends and holidays.

Did you ask them if there was a fire in their trailer park, forcing them to stay in a hotel?

... I used to sit back and grumble about this stuff. I now confront trailer trash.

Great "DC" comment,

It should just be illegal for some people to travel !!

I take offense to the comments as I have worn a robe into the CL, several times, though I've only done it at the hotel I've stayed more than 100 nights at, and i just came up from the pool (swimsuit still on) to get dessert, so not sure how much it aligns with this situation, but I've done it. Could've been worse, they could've been barefoot.

I disagree. It would be better to tell guests that they cannot show up in a bathrobe.

Guests should have enough common sense to do this, but it appears common sense is in short supply with some people.

All you really need to do is to take obvious notice of them and start loudly complimenting them on their terrific matching outfits and how great they look together! @:-) :D :p

I like the fact that OP had a camera (I'll assume it was in his phone).
I've got no problem snapping multiple pictures of people like that and posting them on the internet for all to see.

Still not acceptable dress for a CL. Did your parents not teach you proper decorum?

Well I agree it is kind of tacky, is it really your place to say anything? Aren't you pretty much looking for a fight? If someone has the audacity to wear this in the CL, I am pretty sure they'd be the types to "fight" back. There is no lounge dress code, and I don't think guests should take it upon themselves to create and enforce one.

How do you know that there's no dress code? There are many CLs with minimum dress codes.

It's not just my place to say anything; it's everyone's place to say something when they see something wrong. It's also your place.
