I agree in comapring MB offers you need to compare Spring to Spring, Fall to Fall, etc. and so far Spring looks nearly dentical to last year.

To confirm and to see what you have been registered for, you can go to Promotion Central, under You're Registered, you will see Marriott Rewards MegaBonus, this is the same name as in the current promotion. But if you click on the link, and then click on See Details, it will show your individual promotion details with new dates in Spring, 2011.

Nope. Didn't work for me. I don't even see "You're Registered" on any of my pages. And when I click on T&C for the MegaBonus that does show up it still gives details about Q4-2010. I assume there are more folks out there in the same boat as I am. Maybe not. Or maybe there's a short between this operator and the keyboard. I don't know.

Taken from T&C from my Promotion Central:
Registration is required. Marriott Rewards members who register for this promotion by March 31, 2011, will earn one (1) free night award at a category 1-5 hotel after every second paid stay made between February 1, 2011, and April 30, 2011, at a participating Marriott property.

What a Pathetic Promotion Offer
Well my Megabonus offer finally arrive and I must say, what a Disappointment!
My offer to earn a maximum of Two (2) Nights that can be earned after each 2nd Stay and only up to a level Four (4) hotel is pathetic. It appears some people also have gotten the same offer and as I understand it, there are actually 6 offers but three are pretty much the same (2 free nights) with the second three allowing you to earn Points.
This is No "Special" offer. Capping it at 2 nights immediately makes me go to another chain for Q1 as I most likely will not give them 4 nights to earn two even though that is a 50% return. 2 Free Nights is just not enough.
What ever happened to a Real Megabonus Promotion?

Independently that most people will calculate one complimentary night after two paid nights a (very generous) 33 1/3% return (let aside the fact that you paid nights might be in a lower category than redeemed night): It puzzles me that someone who is around for such a long period of time fail to materialize those very similar offers to his/her advantage!
If you dont stay frequently at Marriott branded hotels, these two free nights offers (one Cat 4 reward night = 20K MR points) are more appealing than earning additional max 2K MR bonus points/night. If you plan to stay eg 20 nights between February and April 11 (20 paid nights in three months averages 80 (!!!) paid nights/year) you may ask MR to change your target. Then after your 20 paid nights you will earn 40K MR bonus points instead of two Cat 4 reward nights for a minimum for four paid nights.

Can someone confirm that they got an offer of a free night up to Cat 5 for us?

hahaha fair enough... but my point was really just that it seems that, from a business standpoint, Marriott could very easily adjust the promo to reward based on the revenue they receive. They employ that strategy with points for room rates, but not with the bonuses. If I were in all rooms that cost, say, 50/night and the MegaBonus promo earned me more points than I would on a multiple based system, I would be very happy. However, if I were staying in all rooms that cost 300/400/500/etc /night, I would not be very happy that my loyalty isn't really being rewarded (compared to a lower per night spend) and the bonus is really very little (esp when you consider a plat with a premier card would only have to spend 2,500 to get those 50k points normally and you're asking the MR member to stay 20/25 nights to get the same in a bonus...). To reiterate... I recognize that a bonus is just extra, but it was just an idea/thought I was throwing out there.

BTW, I'm glad there's points vs. free nights; when I use my rewards, I wouldn't want to use 'em for anything in as low a category as 4 or less.

Strange I have not received mine, Promotion Central does not show it and going to the web pages don't lead me anywhere. I guess I should just wait?
Also, I wonder why all the complaints from Plats. I thought we (Platinums, and I read in an earlier post that all elites this time?) can change to the promotion we want anyway?
Thanks.

Husband has his offer and it is the stay 2 nights get 1 night free in a Cat 1-4 with a maximum of 2 free nights for the period.
Have to be grateful as it is something for nothing but we won't be staying at Marriott to try and get these nights. I took a list at the cat 1-4 hotels and nothing on the list interests me so they won't be getting anything out of us.
Think I will actually be dropping Marriott as we don't have enough travel to feed the hungry beasts that these hotel chains represent. We definitely can't feed 5 chains so think with this program Marriott are definitely in 5th position and need to be cut lose.

I'm all about the points. During the course of the promotion, I noticed that a very nice local courtyard was running a weekend rate of $99 with a bonus of 2500 points. So. . .I'm figuring that of my 25 stays, 11 will be Friday or Saturday night stays at the Courtyard. This is an additional 27,500 points on top of the 50,000 awarded for the stays alone.
Its great to find these point bonuses. A one night stay at the Blackstone is getting me a 5000 point bonus in January. A week later, a two night stay at a vacation club in Orlando (rate under $100 a night) is getting me a 10,000 point bonus. A local Renaissance last spring was giving on a weekend stay not only a 7,500 point bonus, but a liberal credit against food purchases - plus a free breakfast.
The megabonus promotion, platinum bonuses, credit card bonuses, and the random property point bonuses seem to make it possible to stay even with point "deflation" - or, maybe, there's a correlation between the few. If it was harder to make points, perhaps redemption awards would have remained more constant.

30 night / 60k?
Has anyone confirmed receipt of the 30/60k offer? Has anyone switched to it?
Thanks!
Thanks!
