Don't trouble yourself, Jk2! IIRC the T&Cs say that if at least 1 night is during the promo period, it will count as a stay for Megabonus purposes.

Probably can't but...

If I stay 50 nights during the promo time of 2/1/11-4/30/11 could I possibly qualify for 2Xs MegaBonus (100K points)? I calculate I'll be is some Marriott 65 nights during that time frame. I'm sure you can't but thought I'd ask if anyone knew.

Advanced purchased rate(cheapest rate on Marriott website)

Advanced purchased rate(the cheapest rate on Marriott website)- Is this eligible toward earning free night for MegaBonus?
Thanks.

I wish! Once the bar reaches the end, you're done 'till the next promo.

only the night's starting w/ Feb 1st (the beg. of the promo) will count.

No, you can't double up like that.

Not 100% sure...but a stay is a stay is a stay. Only preclusion *might* be booking via Priceline, or similar.

Actually unless I'm mistaken, once you hit the megabonus bar, One can change one's earning preference to the triple miles promotion and continue to accumulate miles?

As long as one (1) eligible night occurs during the eligibility earning window (February 1, 2011 – April 30, 2011), a member would earn a credit for that stay toward their MegaBonus."

Does that mean I get credit for Feb 1st-Feb 4th? or the entire stay?

Looks like, based upon my promotion progress, that they don't count nights before 2/1/11 even if it was part of the same stay. I checked in for a 3 night stay 1/31/11 and was only credited with 2 nights. I am guessing that is the issue of me being short 1 night but maybe MarriottConcierge can confirm.

Yes, but at least we do get credit for 2/1 and further on that stay- I was worried that a stay crossing 2/1 wouldn't get any credit at all!

The general rule is that booking through third parties will not rend you any points or eligibility to promotions.

How do I book one of these free nights? When I try to book a room, it stays I do have enough points for a stay but I am trying to use a MegaBonus Free Night certificate for a Cat 4 hotel. Do I need to call to make a reservation? Thanks!

I'm trying to figure out how to register for this - every time I click on the Megabonus link on Promotions, it says Promotion Page Unavailable.

Anyone have a direct link?

I keep getting the description of the megabonus - but no buttons or anything to register....anyone have any ideas?

I had the same problem and I think it's a Marriott system issue: I'd be able to see the signup link if I'm NOT signed into my account, but as soon as I sign in I'd get the "page unavailable" message.

I ended up emailing customer service, don't know what they did but it looks like some genius rep simply "reactivated" my expired MegaBonus offer from last year (15 nights to get 20K pts, 20 nights to get 25 pts). I called and another rep had the audacity to tell me that staying 15 nights in 3 months to get 20 pts is actually a better deal than the BOGO offer.
