I'll be traveling 10-17 February with my 14 month old. I promise to write a detailed TR upon my return. I've been to Kaui but only on my honeymoon (BC).

The Four Seasons in Nevis is by far a better bet that the Royal St. Kitts Marriott, but I don't think you will regret staying at the Marriott. IMHO it is the finest Marriott in the Caribbean.

The resort sits on a 26 acre beach front lot which also houses the Royal St. Kitts Golf Course.

There are 3 swimming pools, a swim-up bar, 9 restaurants, The Royal Beach Casino for those who enjoy spending time at the tables and slots and The 15,000 square foot Emerald Mist Spa.

While I would never refer to the resort as amasing (that's reserved for places like Cap Juluca), it is a lovely place to stay.

I recall you mentioned an experienced 4 year old traveller. Well it should please you to know that there is a Kid's Club at the property (sorry I don't have kids so can't say whether the Club is any good).

I can recall a thread in this forum with a discussion around Kids' Club and activities for children at the St. Kitts Marriott. Will try to locate and post later.

In the meantime you could read http://www.independenttraveler.com/t...rts.cfm?ID=229 for a trip report on St. Kitts/Nevis. While it does not speak to the Marriott it contains good info regarding things to do and places to see.

If you feel like drop me a PM when you get to St. Kitts, would be happy to so you the island.

I've stayed at the Hawaii properties along with St. Kitts. My kids are 5 and 9 yo. Short answer: stay at the 4 seasons. Lots of feedback on this property when you do a search.

My wife and I spent a week at the St. Kitts Marriott over New Year's and thoroughly enjoyed it. We would go back tomorow if we had the vacation time.

We were there with friends who had two sons - 6 and 10. The boys loved the place and really enjoyed the kids club activities.

The restaurants are as good or better than any other Marriott. The steak house was our favourite.

The staff were excellent, expecially if you show an interest in the island. We were impressed at how proud the Kittitians are of thier "paradise".

We stayed at the Kauai Marriott two years ago and enjoyed it also. In comparison, I think the hotel proper in St. Kitts is nicer, but the island of Kauai has more to see and do than St. Kitts.

What I liked about St. Kitts is that there is no temptation to "run" around the island exploring. One good day is sufficient to see the sights and then lots of time relaxing.

I recommend a room in one of the villas. Ours was great.

Hope you enjoy.

We're also booked for the St. Kitts Marriott this month, 8th-15th. I was looking at reviews today on tripadvisor.com and they were very mixed. A couple said they loved their trip and several said it was mediocre. Said the place needed repair and the staff was almost rude. It was good to see there's some hope for a nice trip.

We have visit Aruba, Cayman, Jamaica (Ritz) and St Kitts ....^ St Kitts is our favorite Marriott by far.

How's the beach and the water? This was one of the complaints from another post.

Thank you.

The beach and water is beautiful, me and my wife are avid swimmer. The ocean is the most important thing to us.

Thank you Ken. Can you put in words why you liked St. Kitts more than the other island places you mentioned? We've been to Aruba (Marriott & Renaissance). We have our own snorkels and I've been wondering if we should pack them. What would it involve to take a trip to Nevis and would it take up a whole day? Did you or your wife try the spa?
Thank you again.

The Location of the St. Kitts Marriott is quite unique. It is located on the strip of land in an area called Frigate Bay that connects the main island and the south east penninsula. What is so fantastic about this location you ask. Well the Marriott is set on the Altantic side of the island so your resort beach will be the lovely Atlantic Ocean but within 3 - 5 minutes you could easily cross over to the other side of the strip and dip yourself in the warmer, clamer Caribbean Sea. Two seas/beaches/oceans for the price of one.

You will love the water trust me on this one... if the Atlantic is too choppy switch to the Caribbean, you can't go wrong ^ .

By the way I currently reside in St. Kitts and have extended an open invitation to all FTers visiting the island to meet and have drinks one day during their visit. PM me if you are interested.

Garden Girl, we love everything about St Kitts it’s not Americanized, it’s very quiet and very beautiful. It helps to have a casino, good bars and restaurants on site. The ocean is best we have seen ..... It is hard to explain but I think if you try it you will love it.

We also took a 1 day trip to Nevis on a catamaran, we spent the day on Sunshine a bar/restaurant and it was one of our best days there.

Thanks Ken for support St. Kitts. I guess you can tell that I really love the island and that property and it good to see that you feel the same way. Just hope that Gardengirl gets the opportunity to experience St. Kitts and enjoys it as much as we have

Just out of curiosity, where else in the Caribbean have you traveled?
