I think we are considering the same airline you are and also had concerns of their stabilitiy. Enjoy your vacation, it seems like a great place! Also, we were there in Oct. when the occupancy rate was only 30%. There might have been more events if the hotel was more occupied. |
Well I have spent time at the Marriott but never stayed there so I cant comment on that, however as an ex-resident of the island I can pick up on a few aspects....although you may already be there by now....
Restaurants, Marshalls is excellent, it is located a 2 minute drive from the hotel, it may not be a great place for the little ones though as it is a very quiet place with superb food and excellent service and is reasonably priced. For fans of Indian cuisine the Star of India in town, located on Victoria Road next to the soccer ground is IMHO the best indian restaurant I have been to in the Caribbean and one of the best Ive ever been too. For a fun day with the kiddies there is Turtle Beach with spectaculor views of Nevis, its a causal place with a local-ish menu, ribs, burgers, fish, curries, conch, roti (which is a flatbread containing curried chicken, beef of fish)...... There are monkeys running around there that should entertain as they scurry to pick up scraps left by the patrons, it has an okay beach there so you can make a day of it if the sun is out. Sorry if I got to this too late. |
GM Contact at ST. Kitts Marriott
Hi,
I was hoping for some help in getting an email address for the St. Kitts Marriott General Manager. We are a group of 3 families traveling together and have had nothing short of a nightmare in booking this trip. Central reservations could not answer many questions and has made a lot of mistakes so I want to contact the hotel in advance which has worked well when having such problems in the past at other Marriott properties. Can someone please help? Thanks! |

Can someone please help? Thanks! If the issues are the "nightmare" you claim, call the hotel directly and share a conversation rather than dictating a message. You’ll gain a personal relationship with whom you can meet upon arrival. The call would be only pennies a minute using a prepaid AT&T phone card. |
Dayone, although I appreciate your suggestions please let me judge our “nightmare”. I didn’t intend on turning this into a rant but her are the details you are looking for…
This is a paid for vacation and not rewards. My wife and her friend worked very hard on planning this vacation and much of the effort was resolving reservation mistakes, room charge errors and inconsistent and conflicting information from both Marriott central reservations AND the hotel directly. If it wasn’t for our confidence that the resort is beautiful we would have just gone somewhere else as it took weeks to get some of our questions answered and issues resolved. I am a very seasoned traveler and tried to get some of this done myself and couldn’t believe what was going on and tried unsuccessfully on some of the issues. Here are just some of the issues we had. - We wanted the all-inclusive package and could not get specific details of what is included. Central reservation had no idea and in some cases treated us like it was a stupid question. This is an important issue and we needed to know. The computer obviously had little details so we requested for them to contact the hotel and find out. Didn’t seem like too much to ask but they didn’t want to do it. It took several attempts and someone agreed but could not get much detail. - Called the hotel directly several times and it took several attempts to get the details of the all inclusive. It was like nobody ever asked such a question. - The above took weeks from start to finish. When speaking with some agents it was as if you were bothering them when asking for something that wasn’t in front of them. My wife was intentionally hung up on one time and did nothing to deserve it. - Reserved over the phone, had the agent repeat the dates but the actual reserved dates were wrong. - Booked over the phone and the confirmation email had a higher rate than what was verbally discussed. Took days to rectify. - Our original intent was to book this directly with Marriott but lost confidence and went to a travel agent. Actually saved a lot of money for the same room. Marriott’s loss in the end. - Look no further guarantee didn’t apply but it took days to learn why as the phone agents couldn’t tell us. - Couldn’t even get my Marriott Rewards number on my reservation in advance. Booking a vacation should be a pleasant and welcoming experience and this was anything but. I hope a Marriott lurker reads this as we cannot be the only ones who have gone through this. I would like to contact the GM of this hotel and share some of this with him/her and also verify our reservations are correct. Managers need to know about problems with their product/services. |
Rignell - You state that you are a seasoned traveler
If you are a seasoned traveler, you know the best way to get in touch with the GM. You just pick up the phone and call! This board is not the way to find GMs. The hotel would be more than happy to give you an email address to which to send concerns or a mailing address for the GM. First thing you need to find out is the individual's name. I think you might consider changing your reservations to another property because your less-than-optimal impression of this individual hotel has already been set. I think you're only setting yourself up for a let-down.

The GM at St. Kitts is Mr. John Toti.

Thank you Dash. Please let me know if you have his email address as I am traveling internationally and not in a position to call.
Thanks again... |
The standard form to reach a GM at a Marriott property is [email protected], where xxxxx is the Marsha code; in this case skbrb. (For Renaissance, it's [email protected].)

I don't know why there is such a hostility towards the OP. He asked a simple question and if you can't help, don't post negative replies.
I too had issues with booking this hotel and getting straight answers on simple questions... Luckily I know two couples who independent of each other stayed there and were able to answer my questions.... where the hotel failed... so come on now guys, don't forget the spirit of this board... |

Were you able to reach Mr. Toti? I hope your situation was resolved to your satisfaction. We were there last year and had a ball. If you have any questions, let me know. Dash

I can assure you that this resort is NOT beautiful. It is a dump. Concrete wasteland on what is otherwise a beautiful island, but the resort is absolutely devoid of any local character. No outdoors eating, only poor quality food served indoors listening to 70's music blaring out. Service is beyind slow, all staff are rude and horrible, totally untrained and probably untrainable. Locals are hostile. GM is pathetic. Avoid this place unless you enjoy vacationing at Howard Johnsons and like all-you-can-eat quality dining. |
To all that have been helpful, thank you. To the others for reasons that I cannot figure out chose to attack the question your comments are not appreciated. You take away from a forum such as this which is supposed to be an exchange of information...
No, I have not contacted the hotel yet as I have been away on business but will do so this week. |
rignall,
I do not have access to the GM's email address either however, I can tell you the fax number if that will help. It is 869-466-1201 or, if you would prefer, there is also a Hotel & Reservation Customer Service line you can call. Their number (for international issues) is 011-44-207-584-5500. Hope that helps!
