Had a great family experience in May 2004. As MR Platinum, was upgraded to a grogeous suite. Overall service was friendly--definitely not bad. Breakfast was included--definitely above average.

Concierge arranged a minivan driver who shuttled us around for low cost.

The Sugar Train is a must do experience--approximately $100 per person for a four hour ride.

We had a fabuluous dinner at a restauarant about five minutes from the hotel--forget the name--it's perched on a hill with views over the Carribbean and Atlantic. Ask the concierge for the restaurant with a pool!

Does anyone have a preference as to which building to stay in?

Bumping this thread to see if there are any other experience/recommendations as to room type or location.

We had a great time with our 13, 11 and 2-year old kids. Got a suite which comfortably accomodated all five of us. Good range of adult and kids activities. Highlight was 3-hour Sugar Plantation train ride that takes you around the west side of the island through spectacular scenery. Not cheap, unfortunately--adults werre $80, I forget the rate for kids but is discounted.

Rec Needed for Hotel Room in St. Kitts

I'll be travelling with my husband and one year old to Marriott St. Kitts in February 07 for a week. We are fortunate enough to have the following MR options:

115K = Quality Room
150K = Deluxe Room (comes with Balcony)
255K = Suite

You may get some guidance from this trip report.

Five of us stayed in a suite soon after the hotel opened. It was VERY spacious and comfortable--large bedroom and huge living area. It's probably worth $50 extra dollars per night--I cannot compare the offering to the smaller accomodations. I don't remember having a balcony, but do recall that our living room overlooked the ocean. If I have one complaint it was only having a single bathroom--but that should not be a problem for you.

The building we stayed in did not have an elevator, in case that is a problem. In talking with others at the hotel, it sounded like only the MAIN building had elevators and all of the 3 story buildings scattered around the property had no elevators. This may or may not matter to you but wanted to let you know.

Visiting St. Kitts Marriott

Would love to meet fellow FTers. Will anyone be visiting the St. Kitts Marriott soon? Should be in St. Kitts from 13 Nov - 19 Nov. Then again from the 15 Dec - 23 Dec.

I visited earlier this year. Apparently medical students on assignment get a real good deal. There was also an airline that had a good rate that I saw in a brochure(Carribean Sun?).

You will spend most of your time at the resort, I used points but if they had an all inclusive you should give it a try.

Also take a one day trip to Nevis, worth the ride!
