The complimentary shuttle runs fairly often I remember.

I think that the complimentary bus is designed to be used as part of your journey on the Airport Express, and not as an "all you can use" service during your length of stay that happens to involve the use of Airport Express on either end. Whether they enforce this rigorously is another matter. I would think that people without obvious signs of immediately going to or from the airport (such as those with no luggage) are more likely to be stopped for ticket inspection. Also, whether the presentation of the special Airport Express Octopus card would make any difference (in that it would make it a more difficult conversation for them to have, not that it entitled you to more use of the buses) is yet another matter.

Can anyone confirm how the service charge is handled?

Hi tfjim,

If it is a free night award, there should be no extra taxes or service charge. All free night awards are considered inclusive of tax. But there will be taxes charged to the cash portion, if it is a C&P stay.

Thanks and thanks to the lurker.

BTW, you've mentioned the current promo twice now, which promo are you referring to?

W's just don't have lounges. Wish all you want, but you will never find one at any W. Ever. It might be a bit unfortunate, but it's part of the design.

HKG remains one of my current favorite W properties.

The good news is that the hotel itself has van service every half hour to various parts of Kowloon.

Spot on! Having a lounge is so waaaaaaaaayyyyy not a W style. If anyone prefers a lounge, go find an old fart's hotel :D :D

Knew in advance had been upgraded to Fantastic Suite. Nice but of course does not compare to Marvelous Suite.

Last evening the shower did not drain well. It is also easy for the water to fall beyond the shower area soaking the mat.

They rooms have a tin which contains tea packets. I usually would not keep it except that it is tin. My wife likes these things. The one I got last night had a broken seal so I could see the tea bags which contains flavored teas like we got at the Hilton Frankfurt Lounge. She is going to love that.

My room number is a 01. Last night I could hear the traffic on the causeway even with the black-out curtain down. The views are decent from this room as you have no buildings blocking unlike the corner room or Marvelous Suite.

Off the plane which parked at 34 last night, thru immigration / customs and onto the Airport Express using my octupus card was 1 hour to the suite. Amazing. Regards from the W.

Do they have a glass with your name engraved on it yet? :)

When I was there last month I didn't find the shuttle to be terribly convenient. We kept wanting to go places and the MTR was directly below us and cheap taxi cabs were directly in front. Once we just wanted to go to Nathan Road so we waited and took the shuttle - they gave us bottled water and it was a fancy SUV - but not worth the wait ... we ended up just walking back later that night.

Looking at staying here again first week of January 2010, but it looks like there's no availability? Is the hotel actually fully booked, or have the rooms not been loaded into the system yet?

I would guess that rates aren't loaded into the system yet.

Does anyone get a headache, or nausea when checking in at the reception or when entering the elevators?

Do you feel exhausted more often than not after your stay? And I don't mean after a binge of drink at the bar!

I just want to compare notes.
