I'm thinking the orange is more private, and makes sense that they would be slightly higher cash rate.

From the satellite images on google maps it looks like you could walk over to IC Thalasso along the outer beach. Not sure why anyone would want to though, unless that food at Westin is really bad!

Does anyone know if the hotel enforces a mandatory New Year’s Eve dinner? I couldn’t find any mention of it on the hotel’s official website, but on Expedia, it shows:

“New Year’s Eve (31 December) Gala Dinner per adult: XPF 44,000” That’s nearly $400 per person, which seems outrageous for what would likely be a lame buffet.

Additionally, does anyone have the boat schedule for transfers between the property and Anau (both ways)? Is this service free? I remember when I stayed at the Hitlon (now Conrad) a few years ago, they had extortion pricing at dinner times to discourage you from leaving the resort.

Trying to debate whether to pull the trigger on a last minute trip

I haven't been able to find breakfast cost information; for those that don't have platinum or higher status.
If someone who's been there recently can post the pricing, I would appreciate.
I apologize if I missed that information somewhere.
Thanks

I am not sure if this link will work, but here is a link to the menu for breakfast:

Do you happen to have links to the other menus as well?

Does anyone have upgrade rates from the room on points?

Thank you.

The menus look fairly mediocre.

Hotel confirmed for me that after 5:00 pm, the transfer boat allows you to go on the main island at 5:30 or 6:00 pm and return at 9:15 pm at a price of 3,500 xpf / person (~ $30USD) return trip.

Hotel confirmed mandatory charge @ 44,000 xpf, and that there is a choice between the buffet at Tipanier and a Set menu at Varavara. Menus and detail here: https://linktr.ee/FestiveSeason_WestinBoraBora

Honestly, this completely discourages me from wanting to stay over the 31st. The menus look terrible and nowhere near $800/couple in value.

If you were to walk to IC Thalasso you'd be trespassing on some private property which I'd highly discourage. However it is a short swim/kayak from the south pontoon.

Lagoon view category is definitely more private. Here is a video tour of our lagoon view pool:

I've stayed at the St Regis Bora Bora before and I must say the Westin hard product and even service is many levels above the Sheraton Bora Bora, err I mean the St Regis Bora Bora ;) I'll write up a more detailed report once I leave of the Westin. If anyone has any other questions I'll do my best to answer as well.

Specifically which category is that, is it the larger villa or just the standard room with pool? Was it an elite upgrade?
