Occupancy is low given that they just opened and that was probably a factor.

Smart of them to generate some buzz during low occupancy (high season is ending anyway) with generosity. Then invariably reduce benefits when high occupancy is reached, but we can cross that bridge when we get there.

As pool is not in the description then it does not have a plunge pool.

My hunch is they take a different approach and severely restrict reward inventory by making the standard redemption the beach bungalow without pool.

I don’t believe so.

Yeah I was discussing this with my partner. I really hope they don’t do this, but all the other points hotels in Bora Bora limit the base rooms to some sort of beach bungalow so it would be expected. On the other hand, this resort has the most overwater bungalows of any resort. And the barrier to get here definitely detracts a lot of people, so if they are able to sell most of the overwater bungalows and only a small percentage get booked up by points we might get lucky. But let’s be real, bonvoyed is a term for a reason…

IIRC, IC Thalasso's base room on points is an OWB, albeit with the worst view and location.

The dinner menus are not very inspiring. There are a lot more choices at the St Regis.

Also, the breakfast buffet looks gone from when it was Le Meridian and replaced with a la carte.

It looks like breakfast is still a buffet. My Ambassador confirmed the following.

Also, for reference, I was given our Elite Welcome Amenity choices
  • Daily breakfast buffet at the Te Pahu Restaurant only – for up to two guests per stay
  • 1000 points for the stay
  • One local gift for the stay

Question / info about boat service to the Westin Bora Bora:
I read or saw somewhere that one can reserve dinner at the St. Regis and get complimentary boat service to and from the Westin. Has anyone been able to do so, for free?
I was thinking of hopping over to the St Regis for either Polynesian show dinner or Farniente.
However, writing to the St. Regis the concierge replied: "Boat shuttle is not complimentary and is charged 7’300 xpf per person for a round trip" (to the Westin). That seems a little overpriced.

Good news, the Westin has complimentary boat shuttle to the Bora Bora mainland from 8:30 to 16:50:

Boat rides in white are free. Yellow departure times are 3500 xpf per person, round trip.

Does anyone have an email contact at the hotel?
I have some questions about an upcoming stay.
Thank you

I went to push my Aug 2025 stay out further in the calendar. Where I was previously able to book an OWB for just points, now only beach villas are available as a base room. OWB's are pricing as an upgrade for an extra cash fee on top of the points.

I am going for 2 nights in December so getting closer. 2 at St Regis and 2 at Westin. Looking at the photos I probably would have booked all 4 at the Westin!

Any suggestions for somewhere inexpensive in Tahiti? As I have a night there.

Tahiti Airport Motel. Across the street, up a hill from the Airport. If you don't have too much luggage and are in decent shape, you may be able to walk up there? (I did in 2019, but there are reports one of the walking paths is no longer publicly accessible)

Does anyone receive paid upgrade options from the resort?
