The hotel is part of the Disney Tokyo resort and you can use the monorail to get to either park.
There is a new park wing that has a higher class of rooms, though the same facilities that includes an excellent children's play area that is free for elite members

If the answer to both questions is yes, then perhaps you like to contact Corporate Customer Service to reflect this.

Thanks for your response to my post.
Yes, we were assigned a room of another category.
We booked an Ocean Dream room with 2 single and 2 double beds/family room (our daughter was with us)
On check in they'd assigned us to a room with just 2 beds and asked if we needed a third bed. Yes, please!
We were taken to room 799, a dated, non renovated Treasures room (it didn't look anything like the photos of the renovated rooms online) with 3 children's single beds plus 2 double beds.

Yes it was a paid reservation and I noted at the time of booking that we could have booked a Treasures room for less $$ than an Ocean Dream room (about $30 a night less I recall).

I will contact Corporate Customer Service as you suggest.

But if you are indeed downgraded, I believe you should give a feedback, and I am sure Lurker II will be checking with the SPG coordinator there.

Btw, does your rate includes breakfast, or is it because Plats are given complimentary breakfast?
(I'm confused here as I thought a few others besides you, mentioned it was a "discount coupon" (given to Plats only?) at Grand Cafe, not a full free breakfast there - only at Summit/Lounge is a full free breakfast?)

How was the evening cocktails?

Is getting to Disneyland/DisneySea easy from the hotel?

I will be there next month, so I hope things will turn out better than what have been posted here. I guess I cannot do much about dated rooms, if they have not refurbished for really long.
It was an end room and probably a little bigger but it was ugly and designed for families with young children (not what we wanted)!

We got the discount coupon for plats and as we were seated in the Grand Cafe for breakfast we handed over the coupon and asked if the buffet was included or if there a charge. We were told that the coupon covered the cost of the buffet.

We didn't check out the evening cocktails in the lounge. My 15 yr old daughter went to get a Coke and was told the lounge was full but they could have drinks sent up to her room if she wished. She said the room looked almost empty but maybe they didn't want to admit a minor where there was access to alcohol?

Getting to Disney is very easy. A 2 minute walk or frequent shuttle ride to the monorail and a few stops to the parks. Very quick and convenient but note they do charge for the monorail which we hadn't expected. Single tickets are 250 yen.

Do ask for a recently refurbished room!

I received an email from the hotel management along the lines of 'Sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your room.
We appreciate this information as it will enable us to improve our hotel and customer service.'

Yeah, I hope so but next time I'll stay someplace else!

Has anyone stayed in this hotel's club rooms before? Is it worth the upgrade? They are offering the following point upgrades for my stay:

Club Level 1500
Club Level corner 2500
Regular Suite 20,000
Club Level Suite 30,000

I saw that you get free health club benefits with the club level, and the one thing I'm most interested in is the kids club (called Treasures Island) so thinking this may be a worthwhile upgrade, in addition to the breakfast and snacks/drinks?

I've been upgraded to club level here as a Plat and actually prefer the non club level rooms, especially since the Disneyland side has rooms that are smaller than average. If you're traveling with a child, you might want to consider one of the more whimsical rooms (either the Treasures room or Ocean Dream room). The club level rooms seem to be designed more for a business traveler.

I don't think you get access to the kids club with the upgrade -- that's part of the spa area, not the club floor.

Any plat stayed recently and care to update benefits?

The info I've received is:
. upgrade to Grande or Club room
. BF in club lounge (no mention of discount voucher)
. 500 pts

Addition:
. strangely enough - SNA allows you to upgrade to "Suite". Picture is that of the "Regular Suite" on the english website...

Booked three nights using Starpoints and due to the normal rooms being full I booked the Club Rooms instead. Tried to apply SNAs but didn't get them.

Upon arrival at hotel I asked if there might be any suites available and they took the effort to search. So I got a non-smoking Suite on a normal floor with a bay view on the first nights and moved to a smoking Suite on the Club floor for the remaining two nights. The associates got Thank You cards from me.

Great Plat recognition in the forms of breakfast, free use of facilities including public bath, although lounge was so so.

I'm planning a trip to Tokyo and my flight out of Narita is currently the day after a now-fixed-in-stone Hyatt award reservation (from before their award chart changes). For my last night, I can stay near the airport or somewhere in Tokyo.

My flight's at 11AM. Would this be a reasonable hotel to stay at or should I look elsewhere? (Google Maps seems to suggest that I'm no better off staying in central Tokyo in terms of total transit time to Narita.)

Am I guessing correctly that aside from an SPG hotel there you have no interest otherwise in Urayasu and Tokyo Disneyland?

Here's the Airport Limo Bus schedule...
http://www.limousinebus.co.jp/en/. It's usually very punctual. It does mean you have to get up pretty early.

Sheraton Grande can be quite expensive at times. How's the rate for the night you have in mind? If you don't really need the points/stays, you could opt for one of the Narita area hotels. I personally like the Hilton, especially if you can get a corp rate. But the Holiday Inn is fine, just noisy.

There is the airport limousine bus that will take you direct from the hotel to Narita. The 7:07 departure looks good for your timing. ¥2450 per adult.

Agreed, if you want to pop into one of the Disney parks (I'd recommend DisneySea) for one day it's a great location. Definitely the best park in the entire worldwide Disney portfolio. Otherwise, it's a rather strange place to stay for the purposes of staying in a Starwood. The airport bus though was quite good and punctual.

Also the prices there fluctuate wildly. For ~140 it's great, but prices easily jump to 400 plus for many other times of the year (and likely indicate the parks will be stuffed).

A few weeks ago my NRT-DEN flight was cancelled. UA put us in this property. It is significantly far enough from the airport that I wouldn't consider it over say the Hyatt Regency. It isn't any more convenient and certainly the rooms, while functional, are nothing to write home about.

But agree, if this offers a chance to see some of Disney, by all means!
