The hotel is part of the Disney Tokyo resort and you can use the monorail to get to either park.
There is a new park wing that has a higher class of rooms, though the same facilities that includes an excellent children's play area that is free for elite members

Apparently only some floors come with the "sweet sleeper" and strangely even "suites" on other floors do not. As mentioned above, the non-sweet sleeper beds are very HARD.

I just returned from 3 nights award stay.

They did major renovation around 2nd floor lobby, front desk area and Café.

Also there is a new area on the 2nd floor right across the front desk, called "Link@Sheraton Experience With Microsoft," which provides free internet for all guests, open 24 hours a day.

Club lounge(11th floor) is also open 24 hours, with staff available at the desk between 7:30AM-10PM. They now provide check-in/out service at lounge desk for club level guests during these hours. Other service hours are:
- Light snack service: Noon-4PM
- Hors d'œuvre & Wine service: 4PM-6PM (Beer will be available until 9:30PM)

Breakfast is now served at Summit restaurant (12th floor) on For club level guests. They call it "Continental Breakfast" but it includes eggs/bacon/sausage. Best of all, there is no waiting line! So if you want to avoid the huge crowd getting ready for Tokyo Disnayland/Sea, this is a very good alternative.

They said now all western style bed rooms have Sweet Sleeper bed.

Last item, they just opened brand new "Spa CREENNE sothys" at OASIS recreation facility.

Sounds like things have got better. Does the "Summit" restaurant open at 6 am or 7 am? I can't seem to find such a restaurant mentioned on the English or Japanese Tokyo Bay Sheraton website. Plus I remember they sometimes comped your Disney Resort Line pass, do they still do this to Plats? And was this depend on what room you booked?

This year I'm looking forward to checking out Cirque du Soleil Tokyo Theatre for a change which I'm hoping will be good.

"The Summit" opens for breakfast between 7:00-10:00 am.
It is located on top floor (12th), and right in front of the elevator "A" (the one closer to the front desk/Oasis)
It is somehow not listed in restaurant/bar list on the website, as you mentioned, but I found 12th floor map in Japanese.

Breakfast in The Summit is available for clublevel guests, and Platinum members (or so I was told).

They discontinued offering free monorail (Disney Resort Line) pass a few years ago - instead, they now offer free shuttle (Mickey Mouse bus) service to JR Maihama station(every 20 min), as well as disney resort line's Bay Side Station (although Bay Side Station is right in front of the hotel and walking is faster than riding the bus).

I see the restaurant on the floor plan. You know what i never understand is why they never open for breakfast in time to actually allow enough time to get into the park on time allowing for line up time. They should have a restaurant open for breakfast at 6 am at least if not before yet the Grand Cafe which opens at 6.30 has in the past been packed at opening. During off season it's probably okay but Disneyland and Sea often opens at 7 am and of course people start lining up at 5 am or before so having a breakfast which starts at 7 am doesn't quite add up for a hotel set up mainly to cater for Disneyland. Although the only reason you would get up this early is to beat the crowd to reserve lunch at a show.

In the past i've ended up just getting room service as this seems the only way to get fed in time.

I just got back from my trip. Basically, what PforPlatinum said.

The lobby area is very nice and renovated. We were well-recognized as SPG gold members, starting with check-in. The club floor room was ok - very small, but reasonably comfortable. We didn't make much use of the lounge, other than an occasional soda or cookie. The free Summit breakfast was much appreciated and got us to the park every day full and ready for hours of fun without having to stop to eat. On Thursday and Friday mornings, the buffet was pretty basic, but there were never more than 2 other tables in the restaurant. Saturday, our last day, the hotel was much fuller and there was a bigger buffet with a full Japanese breakfast option. Still plenty of seats in the restaurant, but with more Japanese tourists clamoring for attention as gaijin we were shunted off to a worse table and basically ignored by the staff. That wasn't so good.

All the pools, indoor and outdoor, were closed, despite hot and steamy weather. The "OASIS" facility is awful, it looks and smells like it hasn't been touched since it opened. Basically, a Japanese-style family bathhouse. We were clearly oddities there and very uncomfortable.

All in all, an ok experience. It was great to stay at the Disney resort - we left the parks every afternoon for about 3 hours for a nap and rest, which we couldn't have done staying downtown. The hotel was decent, and right for the price (i.e., Starpoints). But if I were paying and willing to shell out I'd stay at an official Disney hotel - probably the Miracosta, due to its excellent location at the entrance to DisneySea.

Can anyone comment on the ease of getting a non-smoking room at check-in? As mentioned in another thread there only appears to be smoking inventory loaded on the English site.

How are the food prices here, especially compared to the Hilton next door?

Sheraton Grand Tokyo Bay

Checked in tonight with my family amidst the zoo in the lobby, escorted to my room and a bit shocked to see that it was a ... shoebox.

I was able to secure a larger room after stating my case to both guest services and the front desk ... but what a hassle. These folks proudly display their Starwood program literature but are not playing by the program rules when it comes to giving customers anything near the best available room at check-in.

Just completed a three night stay in September

The lobby on the second floor and the first floor appears to be well renovated. There is a dedicated SPG check in counter for SPG elite levels across from the main reservation desk. Some of the staff have limited english language skills, but all appear to be helpful and friendly. Booked the lowest pre paid rate for a 3 nite stay. Was given a room on the 11th floor, near the club lounge. As a Plat you are entitled to breakfast at anyone one of the 4 restaurants that are open for breakfast. We choose the 1st floor main restaurant each morning as it was a very large buffet. Club lounge access, which is open 24 hours with free wifi. Soft drinks and coffee 24 hours. Evening snacks with wine and cocktails from around 5 pm to 7 pm. A draft beer dispenser in operation till 19:30.

Also as a plat you are entitled to use the japanese style bathhouse, etc.

fitness facility is pretty small, and the equipment is actually ancient. But I must say, very clean. And not used by many of the guests.

The Oasis annex has an arcade, a kids center and a coin laundy, which was quite handy. There is also a small convenience store located in the annex. We were there the first few days of September and there were very few non japanese guests. While some staff had limited english language skills, anytime there was an issue, the staff member would find another person with appropriate language skills.

The club level room was exceptionally clean. I could not tell how old the furniture but everything appeared to be in good condition. I liked the layout of the washroom with a seperate WC.

The sweet sleeper beds are not the standard north american style. They are very firm. But that is also the case for the Tokyo Westin Heavenly bed, which is also very firm compared to the NA version.

Overall, I found the level of service very good. I was travelling with my spouse and 4 year old daughter. I assume the resort caters to the japanese market as the japanese restaurant does not have an english language menu. But we still managed to eat. If I were to ever visit the Tokyo disney area, I would not hesitate to re book the Sheraton. And the rate was very reasonable (approx $150 US per night).

There are no english language channels on the TV, though you can purchase 24 hours english language movies. Even CNN is dubbed.

They have improved.

The Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay has refined its services vis-a-vis Platinum guests. A recent stay was much to my satisfaction. Much appreciate the turnaround ... and highly recommend Platinum members to check-in/check-out at the upper-level Club Lounge for optimal guest care.

If you press one of the buttons on the remote control, you get to watch CNN and other foreign language channels without dubbing. I am acutally surprised they did not have English menu in the restaurant. I am sure it will take them only a few days to prepare an English menu if someone complains about it or if anyone from the hotel management is reading thru this thread.

It was only the Japanese restaurant menu - that was not in English. But they had someone assist in translating our requests. With respect to the tv, I did try fiddling with the remote control, but I was not able to get an alternative audio source. Even without english language tv, it did not bother me.
