It is full breakfast (and very nice) but definitely in lieu of the 500 points.

SNA room (Adriatic Suite) pulled from inventory

From the "interesting" department...about to enter my 5 day window, and this room type disappears. Additionally, now not available for booking on any night for the next 2.5 months - basically, all the way through the summer tourist season. The issue has been reported...but if anyone is going there and is holding out hope for this suite, don't rely on it.

Phone the hotel directly and discuss with them what you would like- they will work with you to get it- in terms of recognition and customer service I would rate this one of the very top SPG hotels anywhere- super great people and they do everything possible to help you. The suites I like the most (no idea of their name) are in the small tower directly in front of reception and overlook the city of Split and the Islands head on. They are in the corner facing the Marina of the top 4 floors (above the trees) and are excellent.

OK, that's good to know, and I will keep my fingers crossed come check-in.

But to me this is another SNA issue...maybe I'm reading too much into it, but the timing / time-frame doesn't feel right. You can book pretty much any other room type, from standard rooms to suites, on ~85% of the next 75 nights...but this SNA room type appears to have disappeared. I'm hoping it's a "technical issue" of some sort.

Apparently the SNA-able suite has sold out for my stay (thanks for investigating William, greatly appreciated). Also, the room disappeared from any visible inventory the next 75 days as it was just changed to a Rack rate apparently - timing must have been a coincidence, but sorry if I ruined it for any Plats staying there this summer

So I'll likely fall to 0/2 on the year for reservations I really wanted my SNA for (e.g., vacations)...I'll be sure to update everyone if some magic happens and it comes through on Sunday; per my note in the master SNA thread, suites can still come through even if you can't see the inventory online.

Have you phoned the hotel? They are really very good with upgrades- I have not missed out here paying with cash or points to get the room I really want.

My AMB has been in contact with them...already spent add'l points for a higher level room, I'm not willing to go any higher than that, esp. with SNAs pending.

If anyone else has opinions on the Split-Plitvice tour excursion, please let me know! BTW, taipeiflyer, I appreciate your helpful post. Black squid risotto sounds amazing, and I'm sure we'll be glad that we chose to stay 5 nights and take it easy! Thanks for sharing despite your school allegiances .
Fight On! Don't want to turn this into a Croatia TR post, but after spending 7 days in country (2 in Dubrovnik, 5 in Split at the LM), I'm happy to answer any questions about transportation, wineries, restaurants, sights, etc. IMO having a car for a week is ideal...had no issues getting on car ferries for a day trip to Hvar and for a drive from Dubrovnik to Orebic and getting on the ferry there to Korcula.

As for the LM...great property, esp. for a category 4.

The good:
- Free parking & plenty of it! They said it was 80 Kuna ($13)/day, but I was never charged
- Full buffet breakfast if you use your Plat amenity...great deal for a long trip; high quality breakfast
- Indoor/outdoor pools are top notch...just crowded
- Marina is nice, has some restaurants/casual places, never dined on site though
- Great staff...concierge is very helpful with reservations and the like
- Decor is a nice mix of beach-style and the LM art/music aesthetic

The not-so-good:
- SNA failed (see posts upthread)...that's another story, though the resort was full
- Internet is very flaky, lots of disconnecting
- Casino is a bit of a dive, was barely open at night, and they only take Euros
- Given the size of the resort, the fitness center is miniscule
- My "Deluxe Room" that I spent an extra 6K points (on top of 40K for a standard) is nowhere near the "like a junior suite" that they claim it to be...not even really an oversized room, they just have a sofabed in it
- The LM bed was probably the single worst *W bed I've slept in...thin and awful. Same goes for the pillows. I know it's not supposed to be Heavenly/Sweet Sleeper, but right after this stay I went to the LM Vienna, which had fabulous bedding.

Overall, I'd still definitely recommend a stay there however, due to being cat 4.

A bit off topic but you can get MAGC credit for more than one room booked under your name?

Is there a promenade along the sea?

Did anybody succeed in getting a suite as Platinum upgrade (compared to the deluxe room mentioned by UA-NYC)?

Is October still a good time to go to Split?

I also received a deluxe room - the check-in agent said it is comparable to a Juinior Suite. Weather in October may still be good and the crowds will have left.

Note to anyone staying here - the Deluxe room is most definitely NOT a Junior Suite!!! It will have a separate pull-out bed, which helps out, but you're not getting a big room partition like you would with a typical Jr. Suite. The room just isn't that big either.

Yes- and you can also walk along the top of the Marina breakwater which gives you a very nice view.

We're headed to Croatia this summer. I'm under the impression that this property if not in the city proper. Does the hotel offer shuttle service to town?

5 days in Split? Seems like a lot?
A day trip to Hvar? Would you suggest an overnight there, or just do a day trip?

Thanks.

True, the hotel is not in the city proper, but there is a shuttle several times a day during July and August, which shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to reach the city centre, even during rush hour.

5 days in Split is hardly a lot, under the assumption that you want to enjoy the beach and relax in addition to visiting the sights.

Hvar takes about two hours to get to by ferry, with frequent departures both in the morning and in the evening, which makes it ideal for a day trip. I wouldn't think of an overnight there as essential, and certainly not if you'd take that one night away from Split.
