Ditto! We stayed here several years ago and actually enjoyed it! Nice little outdoor area for the Club Lounge at the time and great pool surrounding the property.......easy ride into Hua Hin etc., Marriott sure is doing a good job in @##$ things up!

i personally won't come back unless they change their policy.

if i need a place to sleep in Hua Hin, i will go for Marriott in town instead. both have no lounge (for plat and above) anyway.

Marriott is much newer, beach is also nicer. more convenient located than (dated) Sheraton.

We went and stayed a week. On one hand sad to se how poor the recognition and benefits are, also a crazy mess up of the reservation which still feels ODD, but eventually resolved.

Not sure if it was due to the foul up but the service in Luna Lanai and at breakfast was superb. However overall not impressed.

If they went back to even just having a lounge it would make a big difference.

And as usual, no sign of the GM. If the GM is never out front for me it says something, and not good,

We had one night at SGS and of course , flawless as ever ! Thanks Khun Veera !

just spent 4 nights

Hello all,
Just spent 4 nights there last week with familly

Great welcome by the staff, upgraded room at arrival, huge and good breakfast.
this is a hotel where you relax, there is nothing to visit around. Just chill....

you have fantastic local restaurants on the north part of the beach (not part of hotel) or even one by the big road (uncharming location but great food)

Only downside was the indian wedding....150 guests....thank god it was the last day for us.

Will be going next week will report back. On the phone said 2 restaurants are closed, but rates seem reasonable right now.

So checked in last night around 8pm. Got an upgrade to a 1br lagoon view suite without asking, and 2 complimentary drinks coupon. The hotel is huge and surprisingly busy.

Went to the restaurant by the beach, they only had 1 table left since it was so busy. Food was great and reasonably priced. Last orders are all set at 10:30pm now.

The staff all seem very friendly, will post another update in the middle of my stay.

Sohan thanks for the quick update. I am not surprised the hotel was very busy, pretty much all of Hua Hin is busy on weekends with people escaping Bangkok covid restrictions. It's been that way for several months now. You should have a much quieter time in the hotel during week days. Did you get 2 drinks coupons per day or for the entire stay?

We used to love this property for the pool when my kid was young. Just amazing. But a big part of it was the club lounge included for Plats. First few years it was incredible w coconuts and fresh squeezed juice and gorgeous views. Last time they moved to a crappy spot in back and only had soft drinks etc.

But now Marriott got rid of it for plats. Wouldn't go back now.

There's still some room in/near the lobby with soft drinks only available through the day, however I haven't gone to check it out. Not sure if the lack of alcohol is because of covid etc - but there's none being served in the whole property except for in room dining. We redeemed the voucher and got two huge cocktails in plastic glasses - being used to no alcohol for free for a while now, so wasn't expecting anything in that regard so it was a pleasant surprise.

Thank you, it seems they still lack the lounge here, which might change our plans.

The lounge closed when Marriott took over Starwood quite some years ago. I do not know of any Bonvoy resort hotel in Thailand that has a lounge or equivalent amenity any more. The Sheraton Hua Hin closed its lounge. The Sheraton Pranburi Villas, Naka Island Luxury Collection, and the Le Meridien Chiang Rai also ceased their daily elite happy hours and canapés. If you want free booze then Marriott insists that you stay in a city. I mean, clearly no self-respecting elite would ever place some value on free sundowners at a resort to sway their decision-making would they.
