Marriott Bucharest
Is probably the nicest building in all of Bucharest! very luxurious, and very new...at least it was in Nov 2002 when I stayed there. The lounge is sweet, and looks out over the city.
Words of warning:
- Wait for the shuttle from the hotel when you're at the airport. Local taxidrivers will try to screw you over with their fares.
- Be careful with some of the ladies that seem overly friendly in the hotel casino at night -- they might try to do the same.

I stayed there twice a couple of years ago. So,my opinion is a bit dated. I found it to be a very nice hotel. The rooms and the service were both very good. Some of the public areas were quite attractive, as I remember. The food in the restaurants wasn't terribly good, but there was a dessert buffet that was a lot of fun. I don't know if they still do that or not. The hotel is right across from The People's Palace, which, I believe is one of the largest buildings in the world.
I would go ahead and stay there. I think you'll enjoy your stay.

I stayed there recently and found it nice. (It was my only trip to Bucharest, so I cannot compare.) The lobby is very elegant, and I found the rooms and bathrooms more than adequate. The location is not ideal -- near parliament, not in the center of town. But not too far.

Yeah, I stayed there and the Hilton on various trips, and I quite liked the JW. A bit dated perhaps, but nice. Pay attention to the advice about staying clear of overly friendly women and taxi drivers and you should have fun.

I needed to pay an additional $6 for the Credit Card. All told it was $137 for the two nights. I emailed the Voucher to the hotel and my reservation was back in under 12 hours (and viewable under marriott.com).
Remember it is only for Fri, Sat, or Sun nights only!

By the way I pay by bank transfer.You do not actually show the receiver anything.I just set up a bill payment with my bank.The money is transferred to the middle man who in most cases is an organisation called CULTZZ.You will need to add your winning ebay reference to the bill payment so they can tie up your payment with your winning bid.It's a tad cheaper this way and now I have the bill payment set up to CULTZZ quick to use for oher winning hotel bids.
Once they receive your money(usually2 -3 days)they will contact you again via email and you can download your voucher.Then its just a case of picking your dates(weekends only as already specified) and making your booking direct with the hotel.
It's really quite straight foward when you have gone through the process once.
I have bargain Marriott and other hotel rates booked all over Europe for next year.The rates are even beating priceline and added to this ABF is included and sometimes other perks such as welcome drinks,bottle of wine,dinner,taxi transfer etc etc. ^
