Tried it at both the Westin Osaka and Sheraton Incheon and both properties couldn't have cared less (no problem getting connected in the business class lounges at both Incheon & Osaka Airports so I'd say the problem was not with my wifes iPhone but with the hotels server)

I notice that there's another thread about the Weston Osaka IT service and folks saying it was bad then
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starw...l#post14527487 (post #229 & 42)
so after 18-months their service has NOT improved!
Customer Services contacted........... hotel response............ next time you return we'll try better.......... no thanks.........although we go to Japan for cherry blossom festival now for the past 5-years over Songkran, next April I'll opt for another property as their IT services only seemed to have gone from bad to worse.......

Then I would report this to Customer Service or reach out to the Starwood Social Media Team via twitter. It would help other in-house guests who might be encountering the same issue.

A family member will be staying at Westin Osaka on points redemption next month. Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade to club floor by paying extra or using additional points upon check-in? If so, do you know how much? Thx.

Pleasantly surprised based on previous reviews. In Japan on both business and pleasure so Internet access in room is a must so I was concerned at first it would be problematic. I didn't realize you needed to "reserve" the in room wifi in advance until I emailed the hotel a few days prior to checkin and was informed there were none available the 1st night but theyd set aside one for the rest.
TIP: email the hotel after your booking to ask for in room wifi
However upon checkin I was told one would be delivered shortly and installed. This was done within 5 mins of checkin so it was no problem and the speed is fine for all biz email/ web browsing.
I asked for an upgraded room on a higher floor and was told I could have one or the other. Chose larger room and was upgraded to a corner suite. Nice size room def for Japanese standards with separate desk and sitting area. Bathroom is updated and has a full spa tub and separate walk in shower
Service has been very good at check in and with follow up. Compared to the Westin Tokyo, the Osaka has newer looking rooms and showers. It's impeccably clean as well.

I stayed there for 2 nights in April. I was "upgraded" to a corner room but on the same floor as Taiwanese group. Due to the noise I was moved to an ordinary but acceptable room on the Executive floor. Still no wifi in the room. Gym was very dated and small.Service was ok - nothing above and beyond and the price I paid was reasonable. I just find the hotel tired and the customer base becoming more tourist orientated.
This Friday I am back to Osaka and will stay at the new IC which I hope will be a step up. Have also stayed at St Regis before and found the rooms great but the service not so great.

The IC has nice new rooms and facilities of course and sitting on top of Grand Front Osaka shopping/office complex. I like the club lounge (very attentive and nice staff) and the fluffy scrambled eggs they prepare here. Since my IHG account was closed, guess I won't be going back...
I'll be at the St Regis this thursday onwards for a leisure trip.

Never tried the executive lounge here. Breakfast at the lobby restaurant was okay.

The Westin lounge was empty on the one night I used it so I can't complain. Reasonable selection of snacks and drink.

Jsut completed a stay at the St. Regis - 4th time there. And I really enjoy it - smaller, "classier" place (to me at least...)
But they are no longer giving rooms at USG per diem rate (at least not during sumemr travel?) - ~$10 over per day...considering staying at Westin in Aug - within p/d + lounge
No lounge at St. Regis but they give 3,000 jpy minibar per day - but i'm not that into drinking alone in my room (end up just packing the mini's home...)
So the reviews are all mixed on Westin - have 20 day stay coming up...decisions, decisions...why can't the Hyatt be better located!!
