I recall the food was of a higher quality. There were Oysters, some Spring Rolls and tasteless Pakoras as the hot option and the rest were small Quinoa salads, fresh salads, vegetable sticks etc.
I barely ate anything.
There was a large selection of desserts.
What frustrated me more was I asked to check in at the lounge and the manager took 30 mins to check in two rooms. He kept going to help the kitchen staff or take phone calls. It took all my strength not to tell him how to do his job.

Essentially you ask The Concierge or Door people to let you up. They’ll escort you to the lift and use their key to let you up to L21 then you can buzz.

Had a recent 5 night redemption stay. The lounge was quite good, oysters of some type every night, and one night had the additional of swimmer crab. Certainly enough to sub for dinner, with 4 hot dishes, multiple salads, deserts, and sushi rolls. I found it interesting that every night had some variation on barramundi fish. One of the best lounges I've been to, although there is a lack of seating and there were times where I think they were turning people away because all the tables were taken. Suggest that you get there at or before 5pm. Took breakfast in the main buffet, but I did see that the club did have some more premium offerings that weren't available downstairs, such as Liege style waffles, papaya, pre-cut nectarines (this was different every day).
Hard product is quite good, but I was not offered a suite upgrade or terrace room. I was upgraded to a Grand Executive, which although it was definitely a bigger room, it didn't have much of a view and was facing the rooms on the other side of the hotel. To see the park, I had to look to the side.

My wife and I just stayed there on a five day redemption the last week of April, then again one night the next week after a side trip when we returned to Sydney for our flight home. I can confirm the great variety of the evening offerings, there was something for most tastes, my favourites were oyster night and schnitzel night but every evening was great. Only one night during our stay was the lounge really crowded but we did get a seat and more seats opened up shortly. A couple of evenings we showed up after six and did not have a problem finding a place to sit.
The lounge staff were great and by the second evening they knew our drink preferences and made sure we were looked after before the service ended at 7 PM. The breakfast was great with more choices than the average hotel buffet, loved their soft fluffy croissants.
We were lucky to get upgraded to large rooms overlooking Hyde Park on both stays. Loved the hotel location, it was walking distance to many attractions including the Botanical Garden, Darlington Harbour and great shopping. It is steps to Sydney's great transportation system with its tap on - tap off system.
The hotel is very easy to get to as it less than 50 meters from the Elizabeth Street entrance to the St James train stop, which is on the direct line from the International/Domestic airport station after about a fifteen to twenty minute ride. As a note make sure you get on the right train on the way to the airport as you may need to change at Central station as some of the trains from the station go off another line...just be aware of the overhead sign board which will tell you where the train is headed.
I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying Sydney, IMO it was top value for the points that I redeemed for the stays.

Has anyone had experience with 3 adults in a room at this property? will be in a grand exec suite and wondering if theyll allow a roll-out and if there's an extra charge. Similarly with the lounge, wondering if we'll get any trouble for having 3 instead of 2. Received varying responses when i called the hotel.... thank you

The Sheraton was renovated a few years ago and the rooms are among my favorite in Sydney. The hotel staff is generally friendly. The hotel is in the center of the CBD, close to restaurants, Westfield and the park. If you have lounge access, the Sheraton lounge is among the best in the chain.
The Marriott is desperately in need of a renovation. The elevators have been "under repair" for more than a year. The hotel is full of tourists from North America and airline crew. It's not unusual to wait 10-15 minutes for an elevator at peak times. The lounge is decent but generally overcrowded. The gym is awful. If it's your first and probably only visit to Sydney maybe it will matter to you that they are generally good about upgrading upper tier elites to rooms with some kind of view of the bridge or opera house (although current construction will eventually block those out). Walking out the door of the Marriott puts you at Circular Quay and a food court that is pretty good.

The Sheraton is a much better hotel than the Marriott, especially if you have status that entitles you to lounge access. They are about a 10 minute walk apart. But depends on what you are looking for.
