The Sheraton is a much better hotel than the Marriott, especially if you have status that entitles you to lounge access. They are about a 10 minute walk apart. But depends on what you are looking for.

The Sheraton was renovated a few years ago and the rooms are among my favorite in Sydney. The hotel staff is generally friendly. The hotel is in the center of the CBD, close to restaurants, Westfield and the park. If you have lounge access, the Sheraton lounge is among the best in the chain.

The Marriott is desperately in need of a renovation. The elevators have been "under repair" for more than a year. The hotel is full of tourists from North America and airline crew. It's not unusual to wait 10-15 minutes for an elevator at peak times. The lounge is decent but generally overcrowded. The gym is awful. If it's your first and probably only visit to Sydney maybe it will matter to you that they are generally good about upgrading upper tier elites to rooms with some kind of view of the bridge or opera house (although current construction will eventually block those out). Walking out the door of the Marriott puts you at Circular Quay and a food court that is pretty good.
