Doesn’t appear to let you select which certificate you want to use, however.

I just used the new feature. I swapped out a 35k point night for a 25k certificate plus 7k points on a current reservation. The 35k point night had reduced to 32k points since I booked it. I was able to do it online, and I can see the changes. I should have been given back my points, but I don't see them yet - it's only been like 15 minutes, so I'll give it some time to update.

Test booking for a 58k standard room now shows the top off option along with taxes for the top off points:

The artificial limitation of only being allowed to add 15,000 points is arbitrary and anti-customer and another reason I dislike the management of Marriott.

I also just made use of the FNA top-up. I cancelled a 40k night for a 35k FNA + 5k points. Points updated pretty quickly, +40k - 5k (and the FNA removed). Definitely a nice thing to have since the Canadian Amex cards give 35k FNA and there aren't a lot of properties where I can max the value of a fixed 35k FNA certificate.

Hi all! I have an upcoming stay that I had booked for 60k/night. The current point rate is now 100k/night. Will I be able to edit my existing reservation to allow me to use my 50k certificate + 10k points, or if I try to do so, I will be charged at the new rate?

Thanks for any feedback!

Closing thread as award top-offs have gone live. For any discussion on using award top-offs please post in the https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marr...ht-awards.html thread.
