Comments: I had noticed prices dropping so I figured they might not be full. Asked if they had any "cool upgrades" available and the clerk smiled and typed and gave us keycards for 1504. We knew that was a low floor and hoped it might be a nice room, it was a suite with basically two hotel rooms, one with a couch and chair instead of a bed, and a bathroom without a tub/shower, and a mini-fridge/microwave on the other side. Views of the highway

Comments: Upgrade confirmed before the checking, but, once more, I had to go through a "discussion" through the chat on the app, with an associate that was not willing to identify himself.
The hotel Operations is run by one of the two Executive Assistant Managers, that has an unusual attitude for a Marriott manager in Thailand.
I think that I will skip the Athne for a while until I see management changes in that property, where I had many stays, pre and post Marriott.

Well I got bonvoyed again....

So I wanted either a 2 bedroom suite or a suite with a connecting room. There is no option for this on the website so I send an email to the property.
I am instructed to book the least expensive room for my desired dates. check
An extra room is added to my reservation at a rate lower than that of the least expensive room category on the website (by almost $100 / night)
My standard king room is upgraded (confirmed) at no cost to a king suite. No SNA needed - about 10 days out.
They remember me at the property even though it's been 6 months since my last visit. They will have engineering disable the low setpoint limit on the AC and make sure the room is as cool as possible in advance of my arrival.
Did I mention this was for a stay over memorial day weekend?
I wonder what will be waiting in the room for me when I get there...
gotta give credit where credit is due, always great service at this property.

Elite welcome gift was a cheese and charcuterie plate, a bottle of wine, a full size fruit plate and a salmon sandwich plate inside our rooms. Every room type here has a pool, and the villa has the nicest pool and the best location, closest to the restaurants, gym, lobby, spa. Breakfast was pretty good with omelets to order. There is a even an indoor pool, spa, steam and sauna area in addition the outdoor pools and your own private pools! The personalized service, and the above and beyond hospitalty, the farewell gift, the proactive free drink they serve you while you wait for the taxi, the location.. just about everything was perfection. Highly recommend this hotel!
