I did book through Marriott.

App looks like it's working for me, too, on the most recent version.

Just wondering, were any of the stays booked through a Marriott Stars/Virtuoso agent? I just noticed that my agents stays cannot be modified whereas my app stays can. This is annoying because I can still modify them on the website.

Beaucoup Bonv'°y!
You are conflating Android and Google Play Services. These are not the same thing at all. Most (all?) modern Huawei devices do not include GPS as a result of US government policy prohibiting Google or any other US company from working with Huawei. AppGallery, which was mentioned, is Huawei's app store.

I was able to use my Philippine-bought (early 2018) Huawei nova 2i, Model RNE L22, to download an app from the Google Play Store as recently as last month.

That is where I downloaded my MileagePlus X, UA, AA, DL, WN, PR, Marriott & Hilton apps.

Yes, I do have a Huawei AppGallery icon at the top right corner of my phone, but I have never used it.

I just tested it.

Reservations booked through Stars/Virtuoso/Cash back portal are not able to be modified in my app

All other reservations can be.

Not sure if it's just my app?

All my reservations are usually through a cash-back portal (but directly with Marriott) - I can see none of my reservations on the app.

My theory is that the cash back portal is what is screwing everything up. I think all “agent” bookings are no longer modifiable in the app. Try a normal booking and let me know if you can modify it.

I have the same error. Booking made on Marriott.com; not using any cash back site. When opening check in for the stay it says that it’s not booked directly with Marriott… super weird.

I book all .my stays on the app, since the website is very unfriendly in displaying multiple rates, and all my stays display properly and I can cancel or modify. I never modify a reservation. If I need to change the reservation, I will book a new reservation and cancel old reservation

Your phone was released in 2017 and pre-dates the restrictions which were enacted in 2019.
