NUAs (formerly SNAs) are an Annual Choice Benefit option earned after 50 and at 75 nights each year. You can select five per each as a choice and apply them to booked stays. Prevailing data is that they are assigned on an as-available, first-apply, first-choice benefit. Can be tricky for frequent travelers as you only get them 'back' after they're declined at the applied property, so even if you have five 5-night stays in a row, you can end up not being able to use them at all

It's great to see them opened up at this property.

While the Maldives was a one and done for us this is a really fantastic property on points or good cash rate of you're looking for extreme leisure or would enjoy many days of snorkel/scuba. We got unlucky last year and a massive cyclone had just passed by, making for very strong currents and murky water.

The buffet was good enough (excellent even if you enjoy the ethnic dishes) and they were even proactively making us personal dishes. The gym is top notch too and was a great way to enjoy the early morning and sunrise.

As pointed out by applesauce these are the former SNAs that I had received in 2023 after having spent 50 and 75 nights with Marriott respectively. Upgrade had been confirmed 3 days prior to arrival, which seems to be the new NUA default timeframe for upgrade confirmation. I believe cash upgrades will be possible, but I doubt that these will be better value than booking the desired category in the first place.

Luckily we had great weather, sunshine everyday and only few clouds. No rain during our 6 nights stay and almost no currents with crystal clear water almost all the time.

Even though occupancy has been around 70% according to the staff, buffet lunch and dinner has been discontinued at Turquoise. Breakfast is the only buffet offering during the day and will only be offered in Turquoise. Turquoise then closes for lunch and reopens for dinner with international, Asian and Indian a la carte options. Lunch will only be available at Velaa Bar & Grill or Riviera with each a limited menu a bit different to their dinner menus.

Dang, I wish i would have thought last year to get these. Unfortunately I do not have any of these NUA available. I went ahead and sent an email requesting an upgrade (I am platinum) but fully expecting them to send me the price to upgrade. The cash rate difference is $300/night which we probably would not be willing to pay, but we would be happy to pay about half that if its offered. I will update once I hear from the resort.

Wow that's a big change but makes sense! The evening buffet was, surprisingly to me, not frequented by many guests while we were there. A fraction of American and Russian guests and especially on "local" night the majority of people who walked in walked straight out after previewing the delicious spread. Their loss!

Sounds like you enjoyed the dinner buffet. I had the opposite experience a year ago. We had their Asian buffet, and it was downright awful. We regretted the opportunity cost to not stick to the excellent Velaa which we had the other nights and loved.

Can anyone post the Turquoise dinner set menu for HB/FB/AI/pAI?

I've been looking through the links that razorblade705 posted (thanks btw) but only seems to have the a la carte for Turquoise.

Thanks in advance.

HB is a large menu, including the tenderloin that is priced at $70 ala carte. I just left this morning, otherwise I could have snapped a pic.

With either HB, FB or AI you will be able to select either one starter, one main and one dessert or two starters and one main per person from the entire a la carte menu (as linked in razorblade705's post). Calling it "set menu" in their meal plan overview is rather misleading.

we absolutely loved it. overwater with pool sealed it for us and the reason why we went back. we also stayed at Sheraton Moon for a short stay a few years ago, I think the exclusivity of being further away from MLE made it feel better.

hello folks, need some assistance I am not certain what the cost for breakfast would be for the 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 kids (7 and 9 years).
we are using the 5 night certificate under my wife's account, she's a gold member.

I am a titanium member but do not know how to get the benefit as i am using my wife's certificate

does your reservation not indicate HB/FB? I never saw anyone paying for breakfast two weeks ago.

You aren't using the certificates, she is. They're hers not yours. If you show up and she's not with you you'll have a problem. If she's with you, you're staying as a gold member not titanium.

There's a very small but not zero chance you can reach out and politely state the situation and ask if they'd extend you the courtesy of elite benefits but that's entirely goodwill and not in the loyalty terms.

HB/FB or even breakfast isn't a standard part of every rate at this hotel. Points rates have no meal inclusions whatsoever.
