Mosquito situation pretty bad on the island right now.

Got bit while at the gym, then returned to room (villa all the way on end of the north Pier) to find one buzzing around. Quite a few at dinner.

It's been rainy so perhaps contributing, but was hoping they'd have done more to control the mosquito population. We've been spraying with DEET but wife still got bit twice at dinner last night. Now I get no hanky panky for three months.

Have you mentioned this to anyone and asked them if they could increase the spraying. On my multiple stays at this resort never really had an issue with Mosquito's, but have always found management to be very helpful, there is pretty much always a manager around at breakfast, maybe mention it then?

My points earned from the stay seems iffy. I spent $50 C&P x 5 days + $125 half board for 2 people x 3 days = $625 (before tax and fees), yet only earned 3,761 base points + 50% Platinum bonus. Shouldn't I have earned 6,250 base points?

[EDIT] seems like C&P doesn't earn pts on the cash portion.

We were there last week and we did not really notice the mosquito issue.
It was rainy for a few days indeed.

My wife and I are going to be at Le Meridien Maldives at the end of April. May I ask a quick question? We received an email from LM a few days ago, with a link to the payment for the seaplane's transfer. So it is prepaid for $1030.00. I thought it would be charged to the resort & my room account when we check out. I guess this is not the case. It is two separate payments? Seaplane and the hotel. From what I read on this thread, no mention of prepaid for the seaplane. Many thanks.

Hi,
In Maldives at moment, also got email to prepay for flight which I did without issues. So was separate payment for seaplane and also had a hold of $2000 on card at arrival.
Weather is beautiful, no mosquitoes (brought insect repellent still)…

Looking at staying here 5 nights after the Conrad. It appears most rooms here are capped at 3 people. Has anyone stayed with 2 kids, one of them being a baby in a crib? According to the room terms, 1 crib is allowed.

I am thinking of booking for 2 adults and 1 child (who can sleep on the sofa) then later calling to say we will have a baby and need a crib. Most places have never had an issue with this, just curious if anyone has been in a similar situation at this property.

I went ahead and booked 5 nights booked over New Years, which looks like it includes the NYE gala at $605/pp & $302.50/kids. We're no stranger to the Maldives, but are interested in trying this property to see how it compares to some others.

Does anyone know how this will factor in with the meal plan? We are looking at doing FB+ or AI, but obviously to tack on the full day plan price to a day when you're already paying for the dinner gala doesn't seem logical. I would imagine they may just do like $100/dinner credit for that day (similar to $30/day discount for Plat breakfast), but wasn't sure if anyone had any experience with this situation last year.

La mariden says max occupancy is 2 adults for 1 bedroom villa . each additional kid is 150$/per night /per person which seems excessive as this adds 300$ additional costs for 2 kids ( at which is close to getting another sepearte villa which goes for 400$ ).. Can U anyone confirm their recent experience on cost with kids. Thanks

I think it's $75/kid. This rate also includes breakfast.

Been there twice and never been charged for my kid. He was 4, and 5 so not sure if that has anything to do with it. I also have Titanium status.

Charged $75 for my 10 year old a year ago, though they indicated it was normally $150, but they would only charge me $75.
