Marriott IT might be stupid but hotel bean counters will definitely notice.

good question... I will call Marriott to have it corrected, as it does feel a bit more ethical to do so. Having said that, thinking about booking small reward night at W Bahamas as finders reward ;-) hahaha

Convert to a totally different program, redeem on something that can't be refunded, close your account, change your name and leave the country.

well why not transfer the maxium points to an airline of your choice.
its not your fault nor your obligation to report any points postings. how can we know if you were not a lucky winner in the stay 16 times and receive 70.000.000 points.

If OP doesn’t mind beeing prosecuted for wire fraud, I guess that’s what he sould do. We’re probably talking about at least $350,000 worth of points—Marriott would follow up on this and law enforcement would be involved.

Don't fool yourself, Marriott will absolutely ignore that rule when THEY make a mistake! And given it's obviously a mistake trying to use them could be considered attempted fraud. We've all seen movies where an armoured car tosses a bag of money out the back and bills go flying. You don't get to keep them in the real world.
