Is it really a gimmick? It is an opportunuity for Marriott to promote a brand? While the outcome of your answer may or may not have a bearing on the "randomness" of the prize you win, it is supposed to be educational. Not everyone knows everything. I won 2K after flipping each card once only and correctly answering the question. Coincidence? Probably. What region am I in?
"Completely random per EACH geographical region!" Can you please expound? How many regions are there? Is there a subset of the prize pool allocated to each region? How is that implemented? Equal slice for each region? The number of Members in that region as a percentage of all Members. I guess if there "seems" to be more large prize winners outside the United States then those prizes were "randomly" allocated to a different region. Or is it that not every large prize winner is on FlyerTalk disseminating their good fortune? A sample size of 50 or 100 out of 115,000,000 accounts should make for an accurate extrapolation.

Suppose the game computer 'activates' or unlocks prizes at times that are unpredictable but, rather than being completely random, are spread fairly evenly over the day. The first person to complete the online tasks after each prize is unlocked wins that prize. If I'm one of 300,000 people entering between (say) 6:00 AM Eastern and 11:00 PM Pacific, my chances of being "next" after an unlocking are lower than if I'm one of a comparative handful of people clicking away at breakfast time in Europe while most of the USA sleeps.
Of course, I don't know if that is in fact how things work.

I have won 3 times 50 points, and 1 time 3000 points so far. But I have to received a single confirmation email. I wonder if that should have me worried?

Nothing today on my account, but my wife's received 2000 points. ^
As for actually receiving the points, I'd guess none of us will see any points until a few weeks after the promotion ends.
