Clarification from Starwood Lurker in post 125:
- In regards to the part of the offer where you can earn 1,000 points for trying a new brand…There is no minimum length of stay, but you only earn it starting with the second brand. So if you only stay at one brand during the promo period, you will not earn this bonus. But if you stay at 2 or more brands, you will earn 1,000 points for each of those brands after the first one even if the stay is only one night.
- You earn on every stay of 2+ nights, so it isn’t about accumulating nights. If you have two stays of 1 night each, you will not earn a bonus. If you have two accounts, you may register for MegaBonus with either or both accounts. You will only be able to earn with one account at a time because you will earn the bonus points in whichever account the stay was booked with. Example: If you have two accounts that are not combined: If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number and stay with your SPG number, you will earn the bonus points in your SPG account. If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number but book your stay with your MR number, you will not earn bonus points.

Unfortunately the lurkers are having to defend the indefensible. I always take a deep breathe when contacting the lurkers because I know they are just trying to help and probably wished they had more power to sort out things directly.

Got 4000pt from 4 2-night stay, my other 5 nights stay is a big fat 0.
seriously sick of all this nonsense. I feel like a beggar begging for my missing lnf points and now look like I need to beg for my megabonus point as well. Communication had been attrocious, noone bother replying to my email, how would I even know if my case is even looked at if noone talk to me?
I hate to say this, but maybe Hilton and Hyatt is the way to go. Since being loyal means nothing to Bonvoy these days.

If you’re asking what “lurkers” means, it’s the team of Marriott Lurkers (formerly Starwood Lurkers) who act as liaisons between this community and Marriott. They are able to resolve issues and provide straightforward information in a sea of chaos. They’re great.

I'm short points on the brands as well. Only 1000 and I'm torn between wanting to fight for what I earned and not wanting my time.
(I'll probably settle on the latter as what I really want to do is take out my frustration on how terrible things have been for months but some front-line phone agent is not the person to take it out on.)

My misunderstanding! Difference between « ... » and « : » or perhaps if it was phrased « What does ‘lurker’ mean? ». I thought you were adking the lurkers to respond to my comments about them defending the indefensible etc!!

For those that do not see anything, on the app the posting will be at the top, since it happened yesterday. However, in the web version you may have to scroll down a bit in your history. I have never really understood how the web version is sorting the entries. It is somewhat chronological, but not entirely.

For those who don’t think they received anything, scroll down on your activities list. In true Marriott fashion, the points aren’t posted chronologically!
In my case, I noticed a change in my balance (remember, spreadsheet is the only way to survive Marriott idiocy). So I scrolled down, and the 18th line item (dated Feb 28) but scrunched in between Jan 27 and Feb 3, is where I found my 2000 bonus points!

So either Marriott has to run another batch to "fix" this (which could very well happen), or the Lurkers will eat their words. But, again, I simply suggested that's a possibility. Not what is happening (yet). And they are still invaluable in helpful in a ton of situations.

So I was able to get my missing points added manually by calling in (again) and being transferred to the "loyalty" department. Even there, I had to be transferred a second time to what seemed like a supervisor, as the first person I talked to could not do anything. The supervisor to me seemed a bit confused for a bit about the 2+ night bonus v. brand bonus, but after a bit of back and forth manually added my missing points. Totally frustrating, but this is my second experience where the agent seemed relatively willing to adjust/add points manually. The points appeared within an hour or so.
Bottom line: when calling in you need to get to the right department, and once there ask for a supervisor (or someone with some level of authority).
