Clarification from Starwood Lurker in post 125:
- In regards to the part of the offer where you can earn 1,000 points for trying a new brand…There is no minimum length of stay, but you only earn it starting with the second brand. So if you only stay at one brand during the promo period, you will not earn this bonus. But if you stay at 2 or more brands, you will earn 1,000 points for each of those brands after the first one even if the stay is only one night.
- You earn on every stay of 2+ nights, so it isn’t about accumulating nights. If you have two stays of 1 night each, you will not earn a bonus. If you have two accounts, you may register for MegaBonus with either or both accounts. You will only be able to earn with one account at a time because you will earn the bonus points in whichever account the stay was booked with. Example: If you have two accounts that are not combined: If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number and stay with your SPG number, you will earn the bonus points in your SPG account. If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number but book your stay with your MR number, you will not earn bonus points.

Who said they weren’t? Did any of the Lurkers actually they were just handing down a statement from, or vetted by, the Loyalty Team? From reading this thread I don’t believe they did. So, let’s not jump to conclusions. Someone did indeed make a big mixup. Was it the Lurkers who gave people the wrong expectations out of they believed was a clear and unequivocal interpretation of the T&Cs? Or was it just poor execution on the implementation of the promotion? Or maybe the Loyalty Team simply gave conflicting versions of the promotion to different internal departments? For the moment I wouldn’t take any sides, as we haven’t heard anything from Marriott.

1) The SPGLurkers who have consistently provided reliable information in the past; or
2) Whoever was responsible for posting the bonus, given that since the merger of the systems last August I have had more issues with points posting correctly than in my many years as an SPG member?
I think I know where I would place my money.
Of course, if the inconsistency is the fault of the Loyalty department, which seems to be ultimately responsible for the points here, then they should award the points. As far as I am aware, there was nothing indicating that only 2+ night stays would count for the brand bonus.

Shorted 3K points (had 5K posted) on the brand bonus.
Sent a note to the general Ambassador e-mail address, casually mentioned as well that I had moved all my paid stays to Hyatt due to IT competence + corporate arrogance. Will be interesting to see the response.

Is it possible they are posting the brand bonus points in batches starting with the 2+ night stays followed by the 1 night stays? Points are supposed to post up to 6 weeks after the promo ended so they still have until March 14.
I had 6 stays of 2+ nights at 5 different brands and received 4,000 brand bonus points so that fits my theory. Overall I had 10 different brands so should receive 5,000 more points plus the 10k for 10 brand extra bonus.

The Bonvoy Saga continues...
Three Missing Stays, a Promo that's not credited correctly, and drama drama.
I'm going to have an interesting phone call with the Loyalty department tomorrow if they're open.

I just had the most pleasant experience with the "Marriott Bonvoy Elite" line. The agent knew exactly what I was talking about and was able to help without issue and without transferring me. Granted, the CS has gotten so horrible at Marriott that I haven't called the line in 5 months.
Anyway, the agent confirmed that single night stays do qualify for the brand promotion. She had easy access to all of the brands I stayed at and saw that I was only credit 7K points. She quickly posted the missing points and 10K bonus for staying at 10+ brands. Maybe this is the route everyone should take? I'm not convinced the Loyalty/IT departments are going to fix this on their own.
I also had several stays that I booked with bonus points awarded per night that never posted. She quickly posted the bonus points with no questions asked.

Actually, you made the same mistake as me! Assuming your list is in chronological order, your first stay at the Sheraton wouldn't count. So that leaves only the Element and the Courtyard, which means 2000 pts.
My points now match up with my 2 night stays, as the first one doesn't count for me either.

Shorted as well..
Did at least 10 brands, missed this when initially posted. Short 6 or 7 k, plus the 10 nt brand bonus.
Hey at least the current promo is 1) simple to understand 2) robust 3) posts immediately

May have figured out the "IT Glitch"?
After posting the above "shorting" of the brand bonus, the detective in me was curious on how they may have come up with 4k (4 brands) and I had a hunch.
Went back and counted the brands (11) , but sure enough my first 2 night stay (the activator for the primary bonus) was not until stay 7. Thus had 4 one night different brand stays afterwards and perhaps that is how the computer came up with the 4k brand bonus?
My understanding from reading this thread is that is not the case, but perhaps it sheds some light on the situation?
Here's hoping an email to my Amb will save me a call to Omaha.
