As told by Marriott Lurkers and clearly written on the website, booking a package with VBM will earn you both points and elite night credits, so no doubt.
I was just wondering if points are issued only for the hotel part of the total or for the entire price of the package (flight+hotel).

I have a question that was posed earlier in this thread, but never answered: Does the hotel spend of your vacation package count toward your $20k ambassador spend?
I have two booked Marriott Vacations coming up this year and would love to know for purposes of planning to reach my ambassador spending requirement.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, earnings on Qualifying Charges at Hotels counts toward the revenue component (i.e, anything that is earnings eligible on a Member's Stay at a Hotel). We hope this helps!

Thank-you for the quick reply. Am I assuming correctly that "qualifying chargers" include the actual "room rate"?

So we will not get any extra points for booking the flight and room together?

Still waiting on elite night credits and points
I want to revive this thread with a warning to others in this community.
Prior to booking Vacations by Marriott, I called the platinum line customer service after reviewing the Bonvoy terms and conditions, and a member of the Bonvoy customer service team specifically confirmed to me that I would indeed get elite night credits and points for the booking. They specifically replied affirmatively that I would get both nights and points consistent with booking on the normal Marriott website but never told me that the timeframe would be much longer than normal. However, weeks after the trip, I still hadn't gotten the points or elite night credit for the stay and I contacted customer service again, and at that point, I was told that the points and elite nights that because it was a third party service, it might not post for six months! It's very frustrating to be waiting for 7 nights that could help me get to titanium status and 70000+ points I could use for a free room. Nothing in the terms and conditions say the points and nights won't be posted for 6 months. Please learn from my mistake. Do not book on Vacations by Marriott. I think I saved less than $100 and also didn't get my airline credit because I booked through Marriott. Not worth it.

That is hilariously tragic ... who in their right mind would be okay with a six month wait?
