FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides
Last edit by: cmhsieh54
cmhsieh54 in post #1965 suggests that if you have an upcoming stay and if the online system (i.e. website/app) loses your confirmation number, and your online/telephone correspondence with corporate hotlines get you nowhere, call the hotel directly and give them your name and check-in date. Chances are quite high they'll find the confirmation number on their end and they will add it back to your online profile. It's a 2-minute fix; and a better day when we all don't have to be troubled by 'bugs'.

(Below is Marriott's own guidance about this 'bugs' thread)

If you're here, you are obviously experiencing some issues with the web site. Our apologies for any inconvenience. We have an interest in giving you the best web experience possible, so here are some tips on how to get any problems resolved:

First of all, the web assistance team has this suggestion for you:

"We first suggest the normal steps of clearing their cache (temporary files) and cookies, logging out of their Marriott Bonvoy account online, then close all browser windows before trying again. Please note that clearing cookies may also remove any stored passwords in the browser.

It is important for them to log out to ensure no bad/old data is saved and so that the online account has a chance to refresh.

You may already be aware of this, but note that cache and cookies are 2 different things. The cache memory is what remembers old content for faster page loading and may cause errors after updates. Cookies are mostly only meant for tracking during the current session. Both can still remember old errors that may have existed in the browser."

You should also be aware that being on a VPN sometimes interferes with your browsing experience. Try browsing without being on a VPN and see if this fixes the issue.

If none of this resolves your issue(s), you can you can send an email to [email protected] along with any screenshots leading up to and including the error message.

It also helps if you include the following information in your email:

-What browser(s) have you tried? Is the issue happening over multiple browsers or just one?
-Are you using a desktop/laptop or a mobile device?
-If you are using mobile device does this issue persist when on a desktop/laptop?

Once we have this information, we can forward it on to the web assistance team for further review, so please be as complete as possible.

If you are having an issue with any of the Marriott Bonvoy apps, you can send the following information directly to the Marriott Bonvoy App team at [email protected]:

-What device and operating system are you using?
-What version of our app do you have installed?
-What is the problem you have encountered?

Yep - website and app been down for me for the past while. Small window of time available for me to make a series of bookings. Between this and yesterday's bad joke of a cusotmer service experience (first agent spends 25 mins trying to give stay credit for a non-posting rewards stay before telling me they no longer count - then another half hour spent calling back to speak to an agent who knows the rules) makes this a no-brainer to send our stays Hilton's way. Genuinely very sorry to see how bad the Marriott/SPG experience has become. The systems merger was 5 months ago and it still sucks. Patience from this Platinum Premier has run out...

" We are unable to display all your cancelled reservations. Please refer to your cancellation confirmation emails for any reservations you have cancelled. Thank you for your patience. "

...and by "unable to display all your cancelled reservations" they really mean "unable to display ANY of your cancelled reservations".

Downloaded the latest app update and now my Lifetime Silver status and elite years aren't displaying, and my note of enjoying Ambassador status until 01/2020 now reads as 'Enjoy Ambassador Service until (null)'.

Sheesh, you'd think they break things on purpose...

SNAs cleared for my upcoming stay in London this weekend. Great!

Of course now there is no way to get said stay to pull up under My Trips, on web or on mobile...

Total Stranger's Reservation in "My Trips"?

I can see a total stranger's hotel reservation in "My Trips" - I can see her name, email address, and some credit card details. I appear to be able to amend her stay or even cancel it - not that I would, of course. The larger concern, for me personally, is that my own reservation could be viewed by someone else. I had one such missing reservation recently.

I had that happen once. I called Marriott to fix it and they assured me they would. When it was still there a month later, I cancelled it. I wasn’t going to chance it hitting my credit card.

Did you take a screenshot as evidence?

Hmm - I wonder if that where my missing trips may be? I've had a ton of upcoming stays that have gone missing from "My Trips" or are currently missing, so sounds like the whole "My Trips" is a mess. Had a points reservation a few weeks back that had been made in September; it was showing up until about a week before and then it disappeared from My Trips. I'd called Marriott and it seems like it was in one system but not another. I've got ~3 upcoming stays that have been booked but are missing in "My Trips" now, but other trips show up OK. For one of the missing ones, I got a Push notification from the app that I could check in, but when I go into the app, it's still MIA. So it appears it's lurking in the background somewhere, but not able to view it or check in. Not really giving me much confidence when things disappear like that.

are you able to log into your account online?

i haven't been able to log in this morning. first getting some kind of 'we're working on it' error, now getting a 'general error.' i've cleared my cache...just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue. apparently marriott's fab IT staff is at it again.

would like to make a reservation. looks like my app is working, but the online version isn't.
