As per note in my room the exchange the carpet on the executive floors & re-do the Club. The works should be completed by end of October 2009.

Stayed there in an Executive Floor King Room. Posted a few pictures on my Flickr account.

Also received pre-stay upgrade notice.

Was very underwhelmed by the Club staff (attitude/friendlyness). The huge screens are stupic. Internet seems to have some issues as well. Will prefer SGS going forward.

SGS and LM BKK have an itemized list of Platinum benefits. Is there one issued upon check in at Westin? Anything else offered other than Club access (which I assume takes care of internet access, as well)?

The newly renovated lounge (really just refreshing the paint and carpet, a bit of a reconfiguration in the middle room with the food which eliminated some tables, and a new desk for the staff) does provide free Internet. You need to now get a code from the staff and it is good for 3 hours. I assume after 3 hours you just ask for another one.

I'll look in the stuff I received when I checked in, but I don't recall a list of benefits. It could be that I don't receive it sometimes as I am a part of the furniture. I've stayed in the same exact suite for 6 of the last 7 stays or so. No complaints from me! When I checked in last night I asked that a nameplate be put up.

Unfortunately they don't provide a list (also upon request the duty manager was not able to provide one).

I think (but don't know) that besides the 'upgrade' plus lounge access you won't get much...

As mentioned earlier in this thread: due to the construction nearby I would not stay here in the near future but rather go to the SGS across the street (as I have identical corporate rate) or stay at the LM BKK. But that's my 2cts...

Thanks, Ham. I would rather return to LM then. Their benefits are clearly spelled out and the rooms are much newer and nicer. I just hope they will upgrade their internet access. But that's a different topic all together for LM...

My main gripe with WGS is the lack of wifi in the rooms. It is bad enough we are paying $20 or so bucks a day for internet but no wifi is behind the times IMO.

Normally you can get a late check out until 21:00 for 2500 BHT unless they really need a particular room/suite.

I'm sure there are cheaper options out there other than the SPG points. Thanks for throwing out some facts to those who may need this info.

I have gold status at *wood and will be staying at WGS soon.

Is there are charge for using the workout facility? I would like to use the free weights while I am there.

Just got in this morning.
No suite upgrade, but got an executive club king (as mentioned in the pre-arrival platinum upgrade email).
tried to get a little shut-eye in the afternoon (cause got up at 5am to catch the first plane out from SIN), it's true, the noise from the construction nearby does seem a bit disturbing.
anyway, guess i'll sleep much better tonight after a good thai 'massage' later in the evening

Had lots of "massages" while I was there over the new year. Another plus is that WGS is just a stone's throw from most of the "massage" places.
