Platinum Amenities
  • Breakfast in Alba Restaurant
  • Daily fruit basket
  • 4pm late checkout if available

Tips on Availability
Award availability (and availability in general) seems to now be loaded in a week at a time (1 year minus two weeks on Saturday night around midnight ET) rather than day by day as it seemed to be previously.

Arrival information
  • All arrangements for travel to the island must be arranged through [email protected] at least 72 hours in advance.
  • St. Regis Airport Butler will escort guests to the seaplane terminal StR lounge in the comfort of a luxury car or van. The lounge includes drinks and light snacks, WiFi and kids toys.
  • Seaplane schedules are determined one day before arrival or departure and flights take place only from 6am to 3:30pm. The resort does not control the scheduling or arrangements of seaplane flights. This is completely under the control of Trans Maldivian Airways.
  • Guests arriving after 4pm will have to stay overnight on Hulhumale or Male and travel by seaplane the next morning.
  • The maximum baggage allowance per person is 30kg; excess baggage will be charged an additional fee of $6/kg. You can leave your baggage at the airport for $6/day.
  • Fee: $745 roundtrip per person, tax included. Children from 2-11 years pay $449. Complimentary for children under 2 years of age.
  • Travel Time: 45 minutes (one way)
Villa Categories
Note this is not a complete list and is only for the lowest 5 room categories:
  • Base Room is the GV (Garden Villa)
  • Then OWV (Over Water Villa)
  • Then BV (Beach Villa)
  • Then Panoramic OWV
  • Then Sunset OWV
See resort map below.

Regular OWV are (A) 501-507, 509-517, facing into the island. You get a warmer pool compared to Panoramic OWV but less privacy as the higher number rooms can be seen from the island.
Panoramic OWV are (B) 523-525, 527-529 facing out to sea to the north. You get the privacy BUT you will have a chilly pool.

Sunset OWV are (C) 530-534, 536-544 with the higher numbers facing the Whale Bar. The sunsets are spectacular and your pool will be warmest of the three.

Thank you both! Was the airport busy during the evening? I'm seeing reviews on how crazy Male airport gets. I'll be there in June so I know that's low season... Another question is has anyone taken advantage of $350 F&B for $300? If I dont use it all on one day, does it carry over to next day? We're not big drinkers and we'll be eating late breakfast (no lunches on most days), so not sure if this would be worth it. Thanks!

Check-in for economy was fairly long, but no line for business/first class. Airport itself was moderately busy around 8pm. Not crazy, but not dead either. Lounge was around ~35% capacity (my guestimate).

For the F&B, there are a few factors. My wife and I used the full amount each day, and it does NOT carry to the next day. If you're plat+ and have access to free breakfast and you don't anticipate drinking, then you might be able to get away with spending less than $300/day. It would just depend on how much you eat at lunch/dinner. We had the free breakfast and ate heave, late breakfasts and also brought a few snacks to hold us over sometimes all the way to dinner. However, both of us enjoyed a few drinks throughout the day which definitely made the F&B worth it for us. You should be able to see the dinner menus at least a week ahead of time so you can plan accordingly.

Also worth mentioning (as has been pointed out several times in this thread), make dinner reservations ASAP to get your preferred times.

The airport being busy didn't really impact us. The St. Regis person walking us into the airport took us directly to the front of the line (yeah, a little embarrassing, but just shrug and follow your person) and then he rechecked with us after security some how (guess they allow them through?)

Regarding the credit, we absolutely thought it was worth it. We actually used part of the credit to pay for a private cooking class with the chef, which we loved. It is definitely a YMMV on carrying over the credit. The official line is no, but I asked if they could carry it over for two of the days and they did. If it matters, I'm a Lifetime Titanium (not very many of us - they only offer Silver, Gold and Platinum, but for a brief window when they were merging SPG and Marriot, a few thousand of us got LT Titanium).

I'm a Platinum and looking forward to the free breakfast! 😀 Good to know you can use F&B credit for cooking classes and I'll ask the resort if they'd allow it to carry over. Thanks! 🙏

Its the same. This has already been discussed in the thread.

Hi, I’ve booked the flights for a weeklong hollyday in Maldives for the 3rd week of april 2025.

For me and my wife that’s our 4th time in Maldives, but the first time in mid-late april, and the first with our baby (she will be 1y8m) and my parents.

We’ve already stayed at W (NYE), St. Regis (august) & Westin (NYE).

I read online that in late april/may the season start to change, especially in the south islands.

St Regis should be avoided or it’s not “that south”?!? Any experiences in this period?

This is not correct... the credit can be used at any point. So if you're staying 5 nights, you'll pay $1500 up front, and receive a total of $1750 to use at any point in any interval.

I did the $300 credit offer for my 8 night stay and had a total of $2800 to use for the duration. Had a day where I spent $600 and days where I spent $160, but my total still used up the whole credit at the end of the stay.

This is how it was for me in practice as well, but the post you quoted is accurate with respect to what they tell you the policy is. They tell you it doesn't carry over. However, it's always applied to the folio in a lump sum as a single line item, so it's obviously going to work across days because it's just calculating off all the F&B charges for the stay.

Ahh that makes sense. They told me it wouldnt carry over, but when I got the folio at the end, it definitely looked like a credit for the entire stay. Regardless, it wasnt hard to use the $350 each day, but this is good to know for the next time we visit!

Interesting, because I was told from the very beginning I could use the amount across the entire stay without issue, per the property / per my butler.

We are looking at booking our departing flights out of MLE. How early do the seaplanes depart from the resort? Is a 10 AM flight out of MLE too early in the morning if we plan on departing the resort that same morning? If it is too early, what is the earliest recommended MLE departing time for a same-day resort checkout and flight out of MLE?

Welcome to FT.

Have you read the Wiki, of which this thread has a pretty detailed one? You can get a sea plane as early as 6 a.m. ( this info also available on the resort site) so a 10 a.m. flight is fine, even 9 a.m. has been done by guests too.

i must have missed the wiki. Ive read through all six of the reviews pinned to the top, as well as pages upon pages of chats within this forum. Ill go back to find the Wiki. Admittedly, this website is not that intuitive.

Appreciate the answer though! Good to know seaplanes start at 6 AM and a 10 AM MLE departure is achievable!

Though it's near the end, it's still the dry season. But just like any weather... you just never know. I've heard of people being there smack dab in the middle of the wet season and perfect weather for a week.

Wikis are called FlyerTalk Forums Expert How-Tos and Guides. It's on the very first page of the thread and when I'm on a desktop I need to click to expand it so it's easy to miss. (On mobile device its expanded for me already so the page starts with me reading or scrolling through a wiki if one exists for that thread.)
