Following the discussion in this thread, I canceled my one night stay and moved to the Courtyard a few doors down the street. Both were asking £180 for cash rate, but points redemption at the Courtyard were about half, allowing me to use an expiring cert (with points top up).

Just completed a paid 4 night stay at the Glasshouse. Overall, it was fine...but we won't go back in the future. Primary issues:
A. Our room faced the "food truck" courtyard, resulting in loud music and conversation until 12-1AM each day. Stay far away from these rooms.
B. THe hotel layout is just weird...being forced to walk up 2 flights of stairs....then over to elevator....to get down to lobby.
C. The bar was utterly unimpressive. We felt like we were in a club lounge. They were also out of at least 5 whiskys on their single malt menu.
D. Breakfast was good, but the buffet was unimpressive.
Next time, we will likely pick the W or the Sheraton. Given our son wants to go to University of Saint Andrew's....this may make for a few more trips.
