That's underwhelming considering all the great *wood alternatives in BKK, maybe they will reconsider in the future

So in other words, aside from the usual internet + late checkout + Amenity + Potential upgrade there are no “Above & Beyond” benefits at this hotel.

No lounge (it’s a W), no happy hour (like LM BKK), no drinks vouchers (like Four Points), no free breakfast (Most other BKK Starwoods have this) or anything else.

I am sorry, but the last time I was at the 4P Bangkok, they had a great happy hour drinks with small plates at their Beer Vault ... did that change lately?

Back on topic of the W- I went by this weekend- the location is really not very convenient to much except the office towers next door (obviously extremely quiet on the weekend).

Ironic that the aLoft has such an interesting location in comparison to the actual W which I find is in a super inconvenient location for both work and fun.

The new Sofitel Sukhumvit on the other hand which prices in usually around the W looks very interesting and has a very nice bar/restaurant on the roof with a wonderful terrace.

The Sofitel Sukhumvit is incredible. Rooms, even the standard ones.... AMAZING!

As for the W. I hear this location thing a lot, mostly from a crowd that prefers Sukhumvit. This hotel is smack in the midst of a HUGE business section of Bangkok. Why do you think the Le Merdien has done so well? There is a strong demand from hotels in this business district. Until a few years ago, a dreary selection of hotels nearby.

I predict strong revenue and occupancy and ROI based strictly on location.

As for the SUK and even the Aloft. I agree, it's more my style and my preferred neighborhood.

I actually don't think the Dusit Thani is that dreary of a hotel either.

Anyway- the location is very quiet on the weekends- as with any CBD anywhere.

If the LM has done well- very good for them- I just find the neighborhood to be not the best.

Indeed the Dusit Thani is a wonderful hotel. I couldn't agree more.
