"Rupal Corp., owners of the former Econo Lodge on Rainbow Boulevard, is proposing an $11.275 million transformation of the hotel that will see its rooms increase from 43 to 110 and, become part of the Marriott chain.

Plans call for a 40,000-square-foot addition to be built onto the three-story hotel, located at the corner of Rainbow Boulevard and Second Street. The addition will house the new hotel rooms and other amenities including an indoor swimming pool, private courtyard and meeting space. Many of the rooms will have private balconies.

Construction work could start this winter and the hotel could be operating under the Marriott flag by late next summer."

A hotel and conference center in Pflugerville has officials planning for an increase in tourism and business to the city.

Construction crews for the Courtyard by Marriott are slated to break ground on the project Nov. 12. The Courtyard by Marriott will feature a 17,500 square-foot conference center and will be located in 130 Commerce Center at the southwest corner of Highway 130 and Pecan Street.

Toledo said the Courtyard Marriott’s location along the Highway 130 corridor will bring people to stay at the hotel who are going to Hawaiian Falls water park or attending events in North Austin. Madison said the conference center is about five minutes away from the Austin Executive Airport in North Austin, which allows corporate travel in and out of the area. The center is roughly 22 miles from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

The ten-story AC Hotel Madison set to open in late 2016 will provide 164 much needed guest rooms to the downtown Madison market. The hotel will offer valet parking, a fitness center, coffee and espresso bar, ninth floor terrace and lounge, and flexible meeting space for business, social or family events. The tenth floor will also feature a rooftop bar/restaurant offering hotel guests and local diners spectacular views of Lake Mendota and Monona as well as the State Capitol building and will serve signature cocktails, specialty wines, craft beers and an exciting menu of European and locally influenced small plate cuisine.

Cayce, South Carolina, getting a new Courtyard in late 2016.

Courtyard by Marriott is planned for the corporate development hub in SCANA’s Otarre Point Development at the intersection of Interstate 77 and Interstate 26.

“We are excited to welcome Courtyard by Marriott to the city of Cayce,” Mayor Elise Partin said. “Cayce’s central location, access to three major interstates and our close proximity to the airport, downtown Columbia and the University of South Carolina will certainly contribute to the success of the new hotel location.”

The Courtyard by Marriott on Fort Congaree Trail will feature 100 rooms, a bistro with a full-service bar, 683 square feet of meeting space, an indoor pool, a fitness room, a business center, a market pantry, a guest laundry room and an outdoor patio with a fire pit and a grill.

True North Hotel Group has begun construction on a dual project in the Westage Business Center off Route 9 south of the Village of Fishkill. One is a 91-suite Residence Inn and the other a 75-suite SpringHill Suites, both brands that are part of the Marriott hospitality empire. True North will own and manage both properties. They are slated to open in the summer of 2016

I cannot seem to find anymore the page on the Marriott site that lists soon-to-open hotels, but directly across the drive from our fairly-new Courtyard in Kingston, NY, a Residence Inn is going up. Tyvek-clad, windows going in this past week. And across the street - Holiday Inn Express has broken ground. Within a mile or less - Hilton Garden Inn.

New Orleans getting dual-branded hotel in late 2016.

"Hotel development firm NewcrestImage has purchased the 13-story building at 1600 Canal St. in the Central Business District, with plans to develop the property into the area’s first dual-Marriott branded hotel. The building was constructed in 1960 but has been vacant since Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005.

Plans call for a major renovation to house a 105-room TownePlace Suites by Marriott and 78-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott. The dual hotel is expected to open by late 2016. The two hotels will share amenities, including a single lobby, registration desk, breakfast area and bar. A single management and sales team will run the hotels, which will share housekeeping staff. The building’s rooftop will be transformed into an 8,000-square-foot garden overlooking Canal Street. The building will feature an outdoor bar, exercise room and guest laundry."
