I actually only apply for my wife for now. I was going to wait until end of March to apply for myself, but I do question if I should do a referral now from her account for me. Although I need to pay $120 annual fee, but I will get a 10,000 extra (5K on me and 5K on my wife card)

Look like AMEX help me make that decision. They took the refer link off the web site. I guess I will apply the card using the 1st year fee wave promo toward end of March.

For those who call in to get retention bonus points, how many weeks/months do you do it before your card renewal date? And do you speak with an agent, or do you have to ask for the cancellation department?

points didn't transfer this month
I usually get my points transferred to my SPG account 1 or 2 days after my billing cycle ends, like clockwork (on the 21st of the month). For this February, a week later and still nothing.
Called AMEX and they said they saw the points leaving their system. Called SPG and they said no record of it. They're both investigating on each end.
Has anyone experienced this before?
Unfortunate thing is I needed those points to book something before the category changes on March 1st. I guess I'll just buy what I need to make up the shortfall.

Same issue here. Called AMEX and they said they see the points leave their system.
Contacted SPG and they said they will open an issue and will get back to me in 5 business days.
I also needed the points to book before the category changes on March 1.
You can contact an SPG rep on the phone or via online chat and they will book for you the award even if you do not have all the points. You should explain that they will be in your account shortly from your AMEX spending this month. Once the points are in your account later, they will deduct the required amount. That's what I did and received an email confirmation.
Book it now ASAP before the March 1st.

Just checked everything online. History goes back one year and every month I was credited on the 22nd except for March when it went in on the 23rd. Any one have any luck getting their points when they contacted SPG?
