My question regards liquidating funds. As the "account holder" can I do a WM Billpay even though the card is not in my name? Or, should I request a card with my name on it?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Unless you have weird cashiers who ask to see the card, you'll be fine using SO's card (I've been using different-name card for over a year now, 100% success rate).

Save the BP fee, Find a USBank ATm or allpoints ATM and withdraw the cash for free.

Also a gentle reminder, never ever do a balance inquiry when withdrawing money from the ATM. I knew that I shouldn't be doing it. But I was so used to doing balance inquiry when using my checking accounts that I did it out of habit and was docked a $1.50 fee. So just a gentle reminder to all those guys using this.

VB ATM fee

The closest USBank ATM is about 90 miles away. There is an Allpoints ATM only 8 miles away. It should be surcharge-free, but won't USBank charge? The terms state there is a $1.50 fee for any non-USBank ATM. The maximum withdrawal is $200, so $1.50 would be a large fee.

Thanks. I will give it a try.

I want to BillPay Chase (the credit card I used to load). My concern is that Chase or VB would reject the transaction since Chase Account is not the same name as on the card. But, it sounds like it is the Account Holder's name that is important.

If you're an Authorized User and have your own card, it's no issue.

I am always charged $1 for Allpoint ATM withdrawal on all my NW Buxx cards.
I have to call them to reverse the fee each time... :(

I don't have my own card. The default card is in the "teen's" name. I'm wondering if I need to order a second card (for $10) in my name. Yet, others on the board have suggested I can use the card for WM BP and MOs even though the card is not in my name.

+1

As you are limited to $200 ATM draw on US Bank when I started I mistakenly thought clicking the 'check balance' after cash delivery would save me having to reenter my card was a good idea. Oops. $1.50 fee.

Did USB Buxx change their ATM policy lately. Always thought it was only fee free if using their own ATMs?
Or perhaps you have mistaken NW Buxx ATM which is "suppose" to be fee free from Allpoint but in reality it is not as I'm always charge for this then pain and wasted time trying to get a rep to refund the fee.

No, i don't think USB Buxx changed their ATM policy. I think some people are mistaken.

USB Buxx: Free only at USB for withdrawal (fee for checking balance).

NW Buxx: Free only at Allpoint ATMs (although almost everybody gets a $1 surcharge - you have to call in to get the $1 surcharge waived).

The others are correct - you do not need your own card unless for some weird reason the WM cashier looks at the card. But even then if you know the PIN, they don't care.

Thanks Ted! I hope to get the card soon and give it a test drive! I'll make sure to add some data points to this thread.

I have loaded a total of 1530 dollars this month. Today when I try to add another 450 dollars since I dont want to cross the 2000 limit it is showing me this error -

An error occurred while attempting to add funds to your account. Please verify that the information you have provided for your payment method is correct.

Has anyone ever gotten this error? I am using my Chase southwest card and the card details seem to be same and haven't changed. Any ideas? Anyone was in the same boat as me?

It's happened to me before. I think there is an undisclosed weekly limit as well (I didn't read the T&Cs). I tried again after 7 days from the last load date and it worked fine.
