Lucky free unload of NW Buxx.

Went to WM today for a $790 MO and after paying the MO machine hard crashed. After a bunch of fiddling around they gave up and refunded me the full amount in cash ($790.70).

Free unload for this week! Yah!.

US Bank Travel Rewards gets no rewards/cashback. Probably the case for all US Bank cards. I'm going to try Chase next time, usually a safe bet.

Club Carlson business is the only US Bank card reported to give point. In the past 1-2 months I have funded 7 cards with combinations of 3 Chase cards, 2 Citi, and the Paypal debit card and have gotten points/cash back for all loads.

NW.
Confirmed. Loaded another $500 after a week.
(Looks like just 7 rolling days, not counting hours.
Last loaded on the same day of week evening. This load is on morning. So technically is less than a week, but worked fine anyway.)

Qs:
1. Anyone knows if in-store cash back is included in $800/week spend on purchases limit?
2. Is ATM withdrawal included in $800/week spend on purchases limit? (I read controversial info on this.)

I'm new to the Buxx game and would appreciate learning from you guys very much. Just tried to sign up for the USB version and got a decline message that my billing address is not correct. Called Barclays and they said the transaction went through. However, the amount is only $0.

My second question is even though the limit on my Barclays is $2k, the cash advance limit is $400. Can I load my Buxx for $500 at a time? I read somewhere that it might go through first as a cash advance and then be re-characterized as a purchase.

Thanks a lot. I'd appreciate any information.

I also got a trouble adding my Barclay Arrival as a funding CC.

It turned out that my Barclay card had a slightly wrong billing address so I called to fix it. Three days later, I can successfully add it to my account.

Also, my card has $0 cash advance limit. I can add it $500 at a time with no issue whatsoever.

Thanks a lot. That's exactly my problem. Somehow Barclays put my line 2 address as line 1. After changing it on Buxx sign up page, my order zoomed through. However, I now wonder if it would be a problem if I have my 2 address lines in the wrong order.

Sorry if this has been discussed. I did a quick search but couldn't find any conclusive information.

I just tried to set up my NW Buxx with a Barclays card. The card has a $400 CA limit and the transaction was $505. Tried like 4 times and couldn't get the order go through. I was even on the phone with 2 different reps, including a person from the security team while re-submitting the order. Eventually, he told me that the transaction was going through as a CA and I don't have enough CA limit on the card. So what cards do you use for NW Buxx? My other choice would be Citi AA but that seems risky too.

Actually the most profitable way is use your credit card to buy PayPal MyCash card at CVS, then reload your PayPal account using MyCash card you bought, then use PayPal Debit MasterCard to pay for NW Buxx.

I do not know if Barclays works the same way as Chase - but with Chase a Visabuxx load AT FIRST, comes off your Available Cash Advance Limit (which is only 20% of your actual Credit Limit). So say your CA limit is $1000, you do a $400 load to Visabuxx, your available cash advance limit will now show as $600.

After 2 days, the transaction will appear as a Purchase, and your available cash advance goes back to the original amount (in the above example it would now show as $1000)

In your case (assuming Barclays works the same way as Chase) as your Cash Advace limit is only $400 - the most you can reload onto your Visabuxx would be $395 + $5 1st purchase fee.

Whether or not Barclays does treat Visabuxx as Cash Advance, depends if you want to experiment or perhaps someone here may be able to help.

But, for the time being, Chase cards are OK and are treated as a Purchase.

Citi AA has been reported to process NW buxx loads as cash advances in this thread. Chase cards has worked fine.

The NW definitely charged a CA for my personal Citi AA card. The CSR waived the $10 CA fee and said they would allow the waiver only once in a lifetime. lol

1. No idea.
2. Yes, it is included for me.

Is anyone having trouble using a Chase card to load a Visabuxx? I just tried and got a message that I've never seen before. I've closed the window but it was along the lines of "Your transaction cannot be processed. Please try again later or use another payment method." My Chase account shows the charge and reversal. The charge/reversal are for NW Visabuxx whereas previous charges were NW Bank/Gift.

Loaded 2 cards each with $500 on Tuesday with Chase United card - no problems at all.

Any chance the amount you were loading was more than your available Cash Advance Balance? Any outstanding CAs on your account (for example Amex Gift Cards) which may be reducing your available CA limit? Remember CA limit is only 20% of your overall credit limit.

You could do a test load with another Chase card you have and see if that works - say just for $20 or so - yes, there would be a $2 charge - but if it works, then you know the problem lies with the first credit card used and not with Chase itself.

However, if the 2nd card does not work - then maybe something new from Chase

Please let us know.
