It is possible ibwas loading max $500 every week or whatever it was and then just burning it once too

And repeating this

I cancelled both with $0 balances and had received the bonus on both even as i had once been told by csr that id only get one per household

SkinsFan0521 Oct 31, 2012 6:44 pm

I sent an email through the USBank Buxx website asking if there was a purchase limit or if in theory the card had $2k on it, could I make a single $2k purchase.

Also, I reread MMS post on the Buxx card from the other day and he is using a US Bank version and says that he can't even use it to get money orders. He claims that the only way the pin works is to withdraw money from an ATM and doesn't work when attempting to use it as a debit card for purchases.

That seems crazy, but that's what he's saying. I'll have to test it out when I get it to see what that's all about.

You can use the card for purchases - but not to get cash back from purchases.

Did us bank consider the purchase of a wm mo to be a pin purchase or a cash one? From all i know, wm considers all things as items and does not tell entities what people pinned for

The nationwide one allowed pin mo purchases no problem

Good luck on getting any decent response from buxx
I am curious what they say

EDIT: Nevermind... I forgot that you can't use US Bank Buxx to get a MO either

But, you can't load the BB with the Buxx, right? It just seems odd to me that you can use the card as a pin transaction in Walmart to buy a MO, but can't use the card as a pin transaction in Walmart to load the BB.

Like I've said, I don't even have the card, I'm just confused why it would be treated differently at different registers within the same store.

So do i

The cs desk is likely where one would load the bb as it is where all financial things like mos are done. One can buy other things there too like say a candy bar or a dvd and surely you could use a buxx to pin purchase it

I never did this but like i said i used my buxx at wm many times to buy mos straight up as part of split transactions and nothing more

I never used either of two nationwide buxx at an atm

I don't remember... why don't you read the T&Cs and tell us?

I did and it doesn't say it anywhere. As I said earlier... I'm wondering if it is an undocumented limit that they are enforcing.

I'll certainly be testing it myself when I get my card, but I'm just trying to get as much information about prior experiences until then.

Oh, and thanks for the useless and unhelpful post. You really contributed a lot to the thread!

Well, you can only load $500 per transaction, max value of the card is $2k, and load a max of $2k in a 30 day rolling period.

You can withdraw up to $600 per day in three transactions of $200 each.

With that $2k limit, you can't really do THAT much, and T&Cs note other "transaction limits" including transfer limits, unspecified.

yes something like this is possibly why I test this and then elected to cancel them.

I was thinking that when you try to use a debit card at WM to load the Bluebird, it may know it's extracting the funds through your debit card from a bank. IT may be some deep internal thing it has been set up to do. But when you try this with a prepaid card with a pin, it cannot extract them from a bank, and instead is trying to do so from a Visa product, which it may not be able to do. I don't know but it's possible that's the problem when trying to use a pp to load the BB.

SkinsFan0521 Nov 1, 2012 1:35 pm

It may be irrelevant because I don't know if I'm even going to be using this Buxx card since it doesn't appear to be useful to do anything that I would want, but I got a response to my question about what the limit is per transaction:

Yes that is correct. You can make a purchase for whatever the available balance is on your account.

So, that's good if I can find somewhere that will allow me to buy $2k of cash equivalent products from them. haha

Just wanted to confirm that I used NW Buxx to load BB (for $500) without any issues.

That's odd... I wonder why the USBank is different from the NW one. Too bad that I got the USBank one. I may get the NW one if I end up not being able to figure out a useful way to unload the USBank.

Thanks for the data point though

EDIT: One more question... were you charged a fee on your NW card as an ATM withdraw or was it considered a normal purchase with no fee?

You can unload your USBank Buxx via US Bank ATM (free) or via Serve. At least I did it (via Serve) with mine (from NW).

My reload in WM went as purchase (why it shouldn't?):

11-01-2012 Wal-Mart Super Center
Wal-Mart Super Center Purchase of Goods or Services ($500.00) $0.00 $0.00

The only problem with NW is you can spend $800 per week (doesn't say if it is in 7 days or actual week) and you can reload this card 5 times per month.
