Quick question for those that load TD Buxx with Barclays. I was getting my last load in before this dies off and received a fraud alert (figures on the last load ever). Went online and reviewed the preauth and verified that I recognized the charge and went about my way finishing the load. I went to review my temp auths and I see 2 pending load charges from TD when there should only be one. When I was reviewing the fraud alert it said "declined" as did the TD site.

Is this the way the Barclays site typically behaves after a fraud alert? I'm guessing I can expect the second (duplicate) charge to fall off?

PS -- My available credit lines up with what it should be at this point -- NOT including the duplicate charge.

I had a second temporary authorization once when I accidentally typed in the wrong CVC code, and then the correct one. Only one of the authorizations became a real charge. However, this was when loading with a Citi card.

VISA Buxx

RIP TD Buxx. You were my only reliable friend in NYC during the Citi Exec bonanza.

try going to the bank and ask the branch manager. they may be able to open one for you especially if you're their client. this is just an idea, I'm not sure it'll work but if you want one, try it and see.

Won't work :) they produced a new product "Contour" which is what they will sign you up for.

US Bank doesnt offer that product anymore, its offered by some company called FIS Global

No, some moron posted the "hidden" link publicly on FT, and USB closed the backdoor same day. There's a lesson in there somewhere, but no one will learn it.

FYI. That link was posted here months ago as well as other blogs.

Don't let facts get in the way of a good old fashioned unfounded rant

True, a blogger did post that link on FT months ago, and then quickly edited the post to remove the link to keep it safe for new users. Kudos to reason. That link has been shared by PM ever since the main landing page was removed, you just had to ask for it.

Sorry for the "rant." It's just annoying to see the tools of the trade eliminated on a monthly, sometimes weekly, basis because people don't understand the long-term effect of mass media. Airlines/hotels/banks can access these forums just like you and I. Their business is not giving away something for nothing, and if risk management sees an exploit, that exploit will be closed. So IMHO, discussing a deal is one thing, but publicly posting details of backdoors and exploits is another thing altogether. At that point, you're just asking for a shutdown, and we as a community should know better.

More evidence no one actually reads the whole thread on Flyertalk ever :) The "hidden" "PM only" etc link is and still was in this very thread, buried 100 pages ago or something, and wasn't that hard to find if you googled it. It seems more likely that an increase in signups caused the link to go down, rather than where it was posted/that it was "visible".

Wait, let me get this right. As of September 3rd, "parents" also can't use any credit card to load TD Go Buxx?

I thought it was just relatives that can't..

Unfortunately, no. Get your last loads in between now and Tuesday because TD Buxx goes bye bye on Wednesday.

"Account owners and friends and family members will only be able to load TD Go Card(s) using a TD Bank Debit or Credit Card, or by direct deposit."

Probably due to TD becoming virtually useless.
