i am with you. I only used it once but I had to make sure the load amount was under the CA limit on my CSP.
What card are you trying to load? TD? USB? NW? Mine never show up as a CA. |

Yes they're right. Citi/Chase all initially code as a CA, but they get switched over to purchases.
I've done both Citi AA Exec & Chase Freedom/Sapphire

It pends as a cash advance. But even after the transaction posts that pending amount stays on your card for 3-4 weeks as the poster stated. Not only is that amount not available for cash advance, it isn't available for purchases either.
I'd advise somebody who has had the CA convert to purchase to update the wiki and explain the CA->purchase. I'd do it myself, but I haven't seen the conversion yet and am reluctant to do so until I do. Mike |

Totally bizarre. I loaded with Citi before fully reading this thread and saw it post as CA. Citi rep swears it won't convert to purchase. Seems others have had the experience where it does, though, so I dropped it.

Mike Also, the temp auth stays on the account for about 25 days but I still have one on there from April 3. So the time for it to fall off is YMMV. |
I tried adding in my new Citi Exec card but I keep getting this error message "An error occurred while attempting to add your funding source. Please verify that the information you provided is correct."
I called in and the CSR was able to add the payment method on her end and loading the card for me just fine but told me to add if on my end but I still haven't been able to ... |

I have put about 8k through my Citi Exec. All codes as CA on temp auth but then changes to purchase once it posts.

What's interesting is that the authorization is still in temp, but the cash advance fee is already showing in my history, as if it had posted: Temporary Authorizations Temporary Authorizations are transactions that have been deducted from your available credit line but have not yet been posted to your account and are not included in your balance. For example, a car rental agency may pre-authorize an amount when you initially rent a car, then submit the final charge when you return it. Temporary authorizations cannot be disputed until the transactions are posted to your account. The posted amounts may vary from the temporary authorizations. Temporary authorizations automatically drop from your available credit line within 30 days for domestic authorizations and 45 days for foreign authorizations. Update on TD posting to Chase. I've been in beautiful Costa Rica (first all points trip). In SJO now.
Anyway, it did NOT work. A couple days after the payment successfully posted on Chase, the payment reversed. Worth a try though! |
