Did AMEX tell you they are shutting you down or did the cards just stop working?
However I have to say it feels like you are omitting something. You must have some clue as to why they shut you down. Maybe referral bonus are involved ? If everything is truly legit, then you should be able to eventually get your MR. But if you have been doing anything shady, cash them out ASAP. no self referral bs don’t worry. Like I said if it’s for anything shady they should have shutdown my entire account why partial. |
So how did you get notified of the closures?

Not sure if this will make you feel better or not, but apparently you're not the only one:

Better together than alone i suppose? Im going to appeal with the PO Box thing in a few days... Cest la vie.
Now that they have killed CFPB, probably will have to go through your State AG as it seems Amex's appeals process for shutdowns is of the stone wall variety. Do report back how you fare out |

Wow, didn’t realize I accidentally filed for a mortgage with y’all. But alright detective, since we’re deep into the Amex True Crime docuseries now here’s the full exposé:
I think the reasons we ask about details is so we can avoid the behavior, if there is such behavior, that gets one shut down. Whether the person reporting the shut down wishes to disclose that behavior is of course up to that individual. Since Amex is not going to reveal what it was that got you locked out, the only way we can ascertain those reasons is by DPs such as yours. Please don't feel offended ;) |

And oh yea, one additional weird DP - my indian friend obviously without a chinese name got shutdown as well on a sockdrawer bluecash: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/co...t=share_button |

Fair enough, sorry still a sore spot and i'm kinda just waiting to find out if there would be any follow up sneak attacks on the rest of the cards and even my biz checking. Just transferred 160k/580k to AC, not sure where to spend the rest.

It would be nice to hear some DPs from people who were banned and then readmitted. While I have no insight into why your accounts were closed, I'll take a stab. I think Amex may have just been trying to limit their credit exposure with you. Since you have a mix of credit and charge cards, there really isn't any maximum amount of money that you could borrow from them, since charge cards have technically no credit line, per se, unlike your Hilton cards, which do. And while the email may seem to indicate that you were doing something nefarious, it may be that they thought you just had opened too many credit and charge cards for their liking. If all your spending has been legit, then maybe a discussion with someone at Amex may be amenable to closure of some accounts and credit limit lowering on credit card accounts. |

Hopefully, Amex isn't like Chase, that goes all in on closures, and shutters everything, including checking, savings and credit card accounts. They don't do it all at once, but over a period of weeks or even months.

Appreciate the in depth take, unfortunately nobody would even speak to me and asked me to send dispute by mail is all.

That depends on if you've maxed out 1 order and then applied Chase pay over time to it such that you got a 0% interest $40k loan...
