It's just a standard US Bank Business account. I don't pay any other fees, and have no minimum balance, but I get no interest either. One thing that's kinda lame, you have to have both a Personal and a Business account before you get any really useful UI in their app. Can't even transfer funds to/from the business account if you don't have a personal account, but you can do everything with either account once you have both. The personal account requires a 1k/mo. DD to avoid fees.
This is the same bank that offers the Altitude Connect Visa, so I wouldn't take any chances with them if that card sounds like one you'd like to have! |
Okay but just to be clear, US Bank is a US bank so your account is a US US bank, right? Also a US US Bank.

First time trying to load WM One. Just went and got 3x200 Visa GC from Officemax, reg. gc and set pin, then went to load one at WM w/ barcode and got code 56 (debit not available) everytime. I attempted $600 w/ 3@$200 and then 1 at $200 and same result everytime. I then went and purchased a small item and that went through as credit. This is my very first attempt at doing this, what did I do incorrectly? I verified balance when registering.

They work like any other GC, except the $99/swipe limit on most of them makes it useless for anything but Bluebird loads.

This is superhelpful. Thank you!

May be what happened to me too. I just tried to load my one card with OM Visa GC. Registered, set pin, did it for $199 and it was declined. I thought I read in here somewhere someone was loading them with the MC GC $200 ones just fine? Is there certain ones from OM? I know I bought 2 different kind. One says Pathward and the other Meta but both serviced by BHN. Also thought I read somewhere the numbers on the front matter too? Anyone figure out how to load the one card at SCO?

Considering getting a One card. Have read entire thread, and more....
The value proposition for this card seems to be: 1) lower your MS fees since you'll be paying for fewer MOs, 2) liquidate more GCs per store visit since you can hit a few SCO's in the same trip instead of being limited to 2 swipes at the MC for MO (especially these days with the Everywhere problems), and 3) ACH to bank account which helps reduce MO volume to the hub account. Anything I'm missing? I know that there are some caveats to using One to avoid shutdowns: 1) Probably only load <8k per month; 2) ACH a few days after loads and don't leave more in there than you can float until they send you your check in the event of a shutdown. Sounds like ODP/OMX VCGs of the Everywhere variety are good for 2-3 swipes per One card at WM SCO. Then go to another SCO and do 2-3 more cards. 5 Backs sound like they work using the One Barcode at MC (2 swipes). Which means you can liq 6-8 cards in one trip which is a lot better than the 2 I'm doing now via MO at the MC counter. Too bad this doesn't work for ODP/OMX MCGCs...still have to do the old grocery MO route for these apparently. Which is too bad, because my stores usually have a lot more of these than they do the Everywheres. Does this sound right? |

DO we need to load using the barcode from one app? Didn't find any solid walkthrough in this sub yet |

The value proposition for this card seems to be: 1) lower your MS fees since you'll be paying for fewer MOs, I suppose if one is looking at One MC as a means to increase volume above and beyond MO's in a single store trip, they could go to cashier and load, then go clear across the store to another cashier and load, then go to MC and load. So in this case, two swipes per location, for 6 cards per store/trip. Still beats 2 cards per store/trip for a MO. Just might look a little off unless it's a big supercenter where cashier #1 is clear across the store from cashier #2. |
One DP about the One card.
Fidelity brokerage push works as DD for the card. Made one push of 501$ to the card. Posted as Direct deposit paycheck and apy for savings have been updated as 5%. |
