Yeah same. Honestly I’m curious how many people are still sending them items

Im just wondering when was the last payment you received from them?

If you are requesting a small check (a few hundred dollars), mys will pay out in a reasonable amount of time, 2-3 weeks. I just had a payment from them for $75 around 2 weeks ago, and it only took 1 ticket that was answered within 1-2 days. Of course I had first requested the check a month earlier, so well above even the inflated time period mys has now stated for their payment.

I had sent them a few thousand dollars worth or merchandise from amazon back in October. I started opening tickets in middle of November and finally got paid 6-8 weeks after the initial check request. I've been sending them stuff for maybe 3 years, and while they were always slow, they used to pay out within a few days after you put in a ticket (if the ticket request was after their listed processing time of 2-3 weeks). The October purchases were stuff like airpods and apple watches, so I knew I would have zero recourse if mys decided to just not pay.

I was going to totally stop buying for them after my October experience. However, I still had some amazon gc balance left in my account and mys was paying above cost for various amazon devices. I figured those would be safe to buy, since if I didn't get paid after the stated 2-3 weeks, I would simply report the packages as lost to Amazon, and Amazon will deactivate the devices. Anyway, I've used up my amazon gc balance, and won't be sending any more stuff to mys in the future.

I believe mys must have a lot of "friends & family" who buys for them. They send out requests for donations that are clearly aimed at their community. So if you are part of that community, you probably will get paid. For anyone else, I wouldn't recommend using MYS.

Mys is owned and run by a group of Rabbis if I’m not mistaken. In my most recent ticket, I stated that if payment can’t be made with a week that I would have to begin taking legal action. I hate playing it out this way but I wrote out a legal demand letter that I’ll be sending out in the morning to get the ball rolling and will also be calling the claims department in Brooklyn to get the information how to file a case remotely. I doubt it’ll come to it, but I’m fully prepared to take a day off from work to drive into NYC to take them to court

Last check received, i requested right before thanksgiving, just got paid 1/25, 2 months later essentially. Like others I have gotten paid for any request that were made after thanksgiving. I have been buying for MYS for 7-8 years now and once in a blue moon they are quite delayed. But I have not seen over 2 months delay until now. Overall, I am holding off on buying anymore for them until I am paid in full.

How much was that check if you don’t mind me asking. I’m glad to hear your got a payout on 1/25 I had not seen any that recently until your data point. My 11/21 8k request is my big concern

Just a data point for PM...

Requested payment: 9 January
Opened Ticket: 25 January
Ticket Response: 26 January
Payment Sent: 30 January

Tough to want to continue to do business with payment timelines like that.

At least they are keeping updates on payments sent and are being transparent unlike others…

So the consensus is buyinggroup dot com is the one that is least likely to lose your stuff (though hard to get commitments)?

They’re more likely to reimburse you for lost or missing items not the least likely to lose stuff. The least likely ones to lose things are small private groups.

So I am pretty new to this and wanted to get my feet wet. Bought the $15 panda Echo Dot on BFMR to just try it out and Ebay nuked my account. Very glad I only did a $15 test purchase.

If you're just getting your feet wet, I'd highly suggest starting with deals sourced from Amazon. The other retailers are problematic, frustrating, and require a lot of trial and error with shipping address workarounds. The downside with Amazon is that those deals are selling out quickly when they're close to break even.

Doesn't BFMR specifically warn you to do a guest checkout on Ebay precisely because that will happen on Ebay every time?

Amazon is the only one that reliably ships to BFMR's address (primary address even) though even they will treat it differently when it comes to returns and some people report they eventually lock their accounts.

Bfmr has a discord. Do the others? In particular does buyinggroup.com have one? Any experiences here with buyinggroup.com?

MoD has a discord. It’s fairly active. They also post flash deals when they have them available
