What's the reason for avoiding using AGC for payment? Flag for possible fraud?

I have a decent Amazon balance because I maxed out a credit card bonus for Amazon purchases last quarter (and figured that I can purchase closed-loop gift cards like grocery as I need them, to "extend" the bonus) so I was hoping to use some of that.

Amazon will close your account and take the balance of the remaining AGC, is why.

How do you get things to ship

I also noticed TDB has a few "instore" deals with high commission. It's a little bit more hassle having to wait for it to ship to me then to ship it out again and I have to pay tax, but the high commission more than makes up for it. They provide a shipping label. It's interesting they don't require commitments. Has anyone had any issues with self-ship type purchases? My fear is the deal closing in the amount of time it takes for me to go out and buy it then ship it off

I have read the FAQ's and even reached out to buyer groups. I did finally get an order to go through with Dell by calling them after they cancelled my order 6 times.
I know TDB is newer ... Are they legit? I only see a couple of comments for others vouching for them. Thanks for the help.

As for BFMR, TDB, etc, I seem to read positive and negative reports about all of them so it's hard to know which to use.

I setup ACH with them. Fairly straightfoward. The payout takes a few days once the item show it's been deliverd to them. I think the longest I've waited is about a week. Not terrible but not super quick, either.

TDB ach works perfectly they verified with trial deposits before it would link.

TDB is the only group that will pay for lost items as a matter of policy (they do ask you to first try to get a refund from the vendor)

TDB might be new, but the guy running it was in this business as long as it existed working for other groups.

Thanks all. I was having issues with my ACH account number too slow, then I worked around it but it took a while for the trial deposits. Anyways, its all setup now.

This is my first time using buying clubs. I've tried both BFMR and TDB, one purchase each.. BFMR was very fast, a day to mark as received, and then a day to get paid. It took a few days for TDB. Just setup ACH, waiting for payment.

My issue is still ability to purchase. I can only do Amazon, and currently there are no deals for amazon, and Full/Above retail. I'm happy to do other places but I don't want to have to call in every time I do a purchase and I think even that is YMMV.
I see an option to purchase it, then use their provided shipping label to ship to them. I might give this a try.

I'm surprised that worked. Dell is extremely aggressive. I had the fraud department call me and after answering all their questions I was still told 'this looks like a fraudulent order' and they'll have to cancel it because they 'can't find me on Facebook'. Seriously, lol, they can't find me on Facebook. And this was an order to my house!

Yes, my decades old Amazon account was just nuked with no warning. No AGCs used but was loading my Amazon balance with my own cards. Stay away from an Amz balance and stay away from Prime. I'm still debating how hard to push back in getting my balance returned. Obviously front line support is useless and just getting stonewalled there.

wangxinqing Feb 16, 2022 12:50 pm

I have several Amazon personal accounts. For one of the accounts, I have loaded the Amazon balance many many times (more than 200) to keep my CCs active. But each time, I loaded only a very small amount (0.50 USD). I also loaded some large amounts when purchasing things for the buying groups. So far, my accounts are all good to use. I guess that maybe I have not loaded too much so they are not closing my account now. Maybe accounts will be closed in the future.

Like many of the folks here, I right not can only purchase from Amazon for the buying groups. Before, I have done many many deals with Walmart, Dell, and BestBuy. Then, all my orders were canceled. I waited for several months and ordered again. All orders are still canceled. So, I simply gave up. Right now, only Amazon works for me.

Here I have a question: Amazon does have quality limits, which means for many items, you can only purchase one or two or three of them. I heard that there is an Amazon Business account where you can buy things in volume. I am planning to open an Amazon Business account for the deals for the buying groups. However, I am an individual and have no real business (i.e., no business name, no EIN, no business). Am I allowed to open an Amazon Business account?

Any comments and suggestions are highly appreciated! Thanks!

My Amazon account is restricted due to BG's. I can rarely purchase any amazon Fir or Ring products.

As some mentioned here, all groups have varying process in speed of checking in items and paying out.
I think speed is important but more important is reliability. How often do items marked delivered get lost? how do they deal with it?
I've had things get lost with MYS, PM, TBD, USA.
They all ended up offering to refund even though it's not their official policy. It is TBD's stated policy though. (USA by far had the most "lost" packages. I was always refunded by Amazon for them. Till I wasn't. USA did eventually pay out but only after many months and many dozens of times contacting them)
MY order of preference :
1. TBD,
2. PM, MYS
3
4
5
........USA

I never lost anything to EMB or MFMR but have only recently used them. IME their processes are pretty fast however from others here it sounds like they will NOT refund for "lost" delivered packages.

Thanks for the sharing. My Amazon accounts are also restricted because of my orders for the buying groups. Do you think opening an Amazon Business account will resolve the issue?

What do you mean when you say your account is "restricted? That you're unable to buy Amazon products like Fire, Kindle etc.? That is also the case for me, but that is the extent of my restrictions. I can live with it. I actually created a new account and was able to get Amazon product orders to go through on it. It feels like it would be pressing my luck to order for BGs through that account, but at least I'll be able to order for myself if I want to.

Sorry for the confusion. I appreciate your response. I mean that Amazon has quality limits for many items. For instance, I found that the limit for the resent AirPod is three. I could order only three through one Amazon account. When I tried to add more items to the card, I was told that I exceeded the quality limit. That was how my Amazon account was restricted. But I also found that if I wait one or two weeks, I can order another three AirPods. So, I think that Amazon does reset the quality limits at times.

I really want to order more items for the buying items from Amazon because Amazon is the only place that I can order from for now (other vendors keep canceling my orders). So, I converted my personal account to an Amazon Business account this afternoon. I then tried to order more AirPods but failed. Amazon still told me that I exceeded the quality limit. Before the account conversion, I have already ordered three AirPods using my Amazon Personal account. So, my conclusion is for many hot deals from the buying groups, Amazon does have a strict quality limit even if you are using an Amazon Business account.

I agree to an extent. And believe me, I hate that the BGs think they can take an extra 2.5% from us and hope we can subsidize our profits with our CC rewards. Like it or not, people in this hobby are smart and have figured out ways to be profitable in any situation. If you can still net 5%+ with these below costs deals, it’s the easiest couch spend you’ll ever get. GC reselling is mostly breakeven as of late but that requires going to the store and dealing with store reward programs.

If EVERYONE banded together and demanded retail, we could probably get it, but if you sit back, the bigger fish in this hobby will continue to give-in and give BGs what they ask. It’s kind of a “if ya can’t beat ‘em join em” situation. I also feel this is more a product of Q1. Things will get better (more BE deals) as spring turns into summer.

BFMR has handled every return situation with ease. I’ve never once not been able to get my money back from a retailer. I think the worst case scenario is that you’re stuck paying for a return label, which is just part of doing business.

I agree about MYS and PM. PM took almost 2 weeks to scan in and another 3 to pay me for items sent close to the end of the year. MYS has been great with scan-ins as of late but I’m waiting on checks from two weeks ago still. I’d feel better if they just came out and said “we prefer to run payments bi-weekly for all requests received at least one week prior” instead of making me think they’re cash-poor.

I also have the quantity limit of 3 for Airpods in my Amazon account. Guess this restriction is applied to all people.
